46  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: Phase Alignment The Best Thing on: August 28, 2012, 02:44:54 am
Hey Coen - My sig shows those the settings I have now - I increased the latency moving to a slightly more analogue sound with a tad more latency.
P
Hi Paul,

I am not quite sure if your sig reflects all your phase alignment settings. At the time of writing this post, I did not see (from your sig) whether you shift it negatively or positively. If you do not invert the phase (which is common) , it is most common that we require negative alignment.

I did play around with DC measurement with various PA settings. I recalled that with check box "Allow PA" being ticked but neither "+" nor "-" checked, I had a normal low DC reading at NOS1 output. That means PA not engaged.

I am very certain of the above. But will check again tonight.

Hey Praphan, good luck with your flying tour the next week, donīt forget to post the pictures of your simulator, I was also an aficionado although since I have XX I have plenty of entertainment and not much time to fly, but you know what?, although I have another great sound here, sometimes I miss the sound of the propeller planes.good

Juan

Hi Juan,

Great to learn that we have two common hobbies. I did post photo of my simulator. Please click this link.

Hey Juan,

Congratulation!  Thanks for all the experimental works you have done and sharing with us. Saving us so much time.

Now I usually spare my time in flight simming while at the same time keep track/follow tweaks developed by you guys. Much more efficient for me.  Wink

Thanks

I have to work the way back but I donīt understand well if I have to downsize the Qx factor or the SFS or both.

Not the SFS. That remains as a last one to pull down as far as it goes without a message telling you it is too small (see Maxi's post).
But Juan, this is not related to you. You have no "plop" at stopping.

I observed that if I restart XX there is no crash crack at the start of the sound

You mean : when the UI is up and you play Attended that crack is there (x times), but when you close XX and restart, it is not there at a first attempt ?
Sure ?

Dear Peter,

I wish to join in to this discussion. I considered myself relatively lucky about crack, plop and tick syndrome with PA engaged.

At attended playback with net buffer of 4096x15x1 and SFS of 2, the only annoying sound I have is crackkkkk at the first start of any track. But if I stop that track and hit play again. No more crack. I think this is normal. Hitting stop did not really generate annoying plop but rather some sort of echo sound (improved at SFS of 20). Changing digital volume may or may not generate plop depending on track played.

I have not tried playback drive though. Still lag behind most of us here since I spend most of the time enjoying pure, silky smooth, live like music in my listening room. With dim lighting, seems like my speakers are not existed.

Best regards,
Praphan

Hi Peter,

 OffTopic

Here you go ! Fight simming : my another crazy hobby.

And as you know, my even more crazy one is flying a 1975 Cessna 172SP regularly on the weekend.

Cheers!

Haha. You know me Peter. I am planning another 150 NM cross country flight next weekend. It will be instrument flying session so I have to do some simming before the real thing.

Will post some photo soon.

Thank you Peter for the dongle driver sending to us today.

But I am not currently in town to test it on my XP laptop. Will report back next week.

Best regards,
Praphan.

Hi Chris,

I suggest that you hold your decision until the dongle driver is released. I am sure one of us in this forum can test the XP compatibility for you. I myself has old laptop lying around somewhere and can help test it out for you too.

With all due respect Joachim, I think you are lost. I suggest you read all the instructions and guide carefully again.

It happened to me before.

Umhhh.......  How this can be miscommunicated?

I think someone may like to place a cursor right at the red frame of the coverart wallpaper and post the screen shot again.

I wish I could do it but I still haven't reinstalled z7 yet. But I think I understand where to find the red frame.

I will find some beer here too.

Yes,

it is best to start from zero with a clean system to avoid any .......... .

Joachim

Thanks Joachim,

BTW, do you have to use your glasses to look at that "red border"?  I thought it was only me who has to use glasses. Hahaaaaaa

Do you still face the z7 drop out and vanishing ? Probably I will wait until the fog is clear before making another installation and activation attempt.

Cheers!
