Title: cant live without foobar..
Post by: sopparus on May 05, 2009, 10:05:11 am
Have you thought about perhaps a little program that accepts output from foobar and then let xxhighend decode over network? this would be the optimal thing for those with a dedicated music machine, couse once you've mastered foobar there is really no going back and i figure it will take some 2-3 years before xxhighend gets the same usability.

I understand and respect that sound quality always comes first but with such a thing we would have the best of two worlds :)

best regards martin

Hi Martin,

I think most of what I can say is covered in this post : Re: General feedback, any possibility of XBMC support as a front end? (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=735.msg5305#msg5305)

Anyway, I understand what you mean ...
Peter

I think (hope?) it will take less, but xxhe needs improvement in the usability region.
At the moment Peter is focusing on functionalities, some of which lacks in any other software.
Give him some time.

Besides, i think that foobar has NOT the best interface. Take Media Portal, with pureaudio plugin. Thousands better interface, readable with a SMALL handheld device, which foobar isn't. Something like XBMC or any of those media centers, have already the best interface for being read from a small lcd or a handleld (such as my viewsonic panel).

I think that in the shorter time, skinning will help (such as media monkey).
