1  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Administrator message on: April 02, 2008, 06:56:52 pm

I am also getting the same message (XXhighend is not run as administrator).

I have disabled UAC and configured the xxhighend/explorer shortcuts ( and .exe files ) to run as administrator, but still I get this message. I still am still however able to configure the Processor Core Appointment. (even though this will not give me any improved sound quality on my single core Celeron CPU).
2  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: 9u-4 and bass lines from 44/16 material on: March 13, 2008, 10:39:35 pm
OK. What made me confused was your use of the term "if you know that I (estimated) lowered by bass with 9 dB at least" earlier in this thread. I did not really understand what you tried to explain here.... Still don't, I guess.

But it seems like there is no use for a source direct button  Happy

Hmm, does this mean that you have built in an equalizer in XXHighEnd Peter? And if yes, is changes in sound quality between various versions of XXHighEnd (partly) caused by different settings to this equalizer?

If yes to both questions, what do you think about a source direct button for us purists  Happy

4  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Activation on second laptop on: December 27, 2007, 09:33:46 pm
Hi Peter

I also struggle with activation on a second computer. I have two laptops (one single core Celeron and one Dual Core) both running Vista. XXHighend was first activated on the Celeron machine. I then shared the XXHighend folder on this machine on my wireless network. I then tried to activate XXHighend on the dual core computer typing the path to the "activated" folder \\machine_name\share_name into the undemo section of the dual core laptop and pressed activate. This did not work.

Looking closer at your syntax for the path to the other computer "\\MyPC01\DRIVE_C_FromMyPC01\XXCurrentVersion\" I thought maybe for some strange reason I needed to share the complete c-drive of the first computer and then use that longer path for activation. (This path would then be: \\MyPC01\C-drive\Program Files\XXHighend\).
In connection with this I ran into problems sharing the program folder of the Celeron machine (XXHighend was installed into the Program Files folder) on this machine. I could not access it from the dual core computer. I then tried to move the XXHighend folder on the Celeron computer to a folder directly under C: (C:\XXHighend) and share it from there.

This resulted in my fully activated version turning into a demo version again clapping clapping. Moving the folder back to it's original position under C:\Program Files did not fix this problem. Re-entering the activation code did not either fix this problem.

So instead of having activated XXHighend versions installed on two laptops I now have no activated versions running.  unhappy
This very effectively stops my plans to find out the sonic differences between single and dual core playback and also to enjoy my collection of WAV's with the best possible quality. Urgent assistance is needed  Happy

And by the way... Both computers are members of the same workgroup.
