Title: Possible to use XXHighend as external player in HTPC?
Post by: theraven on January 05, 2011, 09:00:09 am
By now building a htpc and was wondering if it's possible to use XXHighend as the external audioplayer in XBMC or simular?

Building HTPC with Asus Xonar x2d -> coaxial -> Perreaux Eloquence 150i amp with build-in Eloquence DAC -> Audioquest type 6 -> Dynaudio Contour 1.3SE

I think I would be able to tweak all so it would be going, but it would be nothing for normal use.
So I'm afraid the answer is No.
Sorry ...

Ok, a little disappointment.... and with creating a dual boot?

I am not sure how a dual boot is related to this ... Maybe I didn't understand your question in the first place ?

You can always run XXHighEnd as a self contained audio player, might that be what you want ...
(and have HTPC stuff installed alongside)

?

As it isn't possible to use XXHighend as external audio player in XBMC,I was wondering if it is possible to create a dual boot system:
choose 1 = Win 7 / Vista or even Linux with XBMC
choose 2 = Win 7  with option to startop XXHighend.
But you say: I can use XXHighend anyway when creating XMBC, only not intergrated in XBMC as external player?

Thanks,

Let me be carful now ... :)

XBMC with XX on Linux won't go anyay.
Same for any Mac OS.
And not on an XBox of course.

That's indeed what I say. But it looks like too onvious to be a question. So I hope my answers are correct ...

Me too ;-)

So in a few days after finishing the hardware part, I will install Win 7 + XBMC, and later I'll install  XXHighend seperately on this system
Thanks
