Title: DC on the mains
Post by: BrianG on April 12, 2011, 10:44:54 am
I have DC on my mains supply  :o

This is causing by big new amp to buzz   :wtf:

So I have just ordered the parts to build a DC blocker based on the Bryston amp schematic  :rules:

I'll let you know how I get on ...... :15a:

Hi Brian,

I'm assuming your big new amp is a Sanders ESL? I also had quite loud buzzing from my Sanders Magtech amp when I first got it and was using it with my regular house mains. But the buzzing has totally gone since I installed my new isolated mains circuit - the amp is now totally, totally silent (and sounding wonderful).

If your DC blocker doesn't work, perhaps you'll need to think about installing an isolated mains circuit... I've found the sonic improvements to be quite substantial.

Mani.
