Title: Intermittent problem with Intona Box
Post by: briefremarks on February 03, 2016, 12:16:09 am
I have observed three times when after re-boot of the XXHE PC, I got a message saying that the "last USB device connected was not recognized" and the NOS 1a DAC does not show up in the XXHE devices menu.  When investigating if the short Clairixa cable was perhaps not connected properly, I've also had the PC simply shut down when I tried to more firmly connect the short cable to the Intona box (not take it out and reinsert, but just apply some pressure).

To condense a number of (probably useless) things I tried, it seems to me that the Intona box is more stable using the longer Clairixa cable between the PC and the box, and the shorter cable on the DAC side.  At least for me.

I know that some people have experienced less errors doing it this way.  My question is: purely from the standpoint of SQ, does it make a difference which end the short cable goes--PC or DAC.

Hey ...

But obviously something is going on there, or in that cable, or in the (connection of) the box.
Isn't it possible for you to check this out with another cable ? I mean, you actually did, but talk about "more stable" only, which is not exactly my idea about a connection. It should just "stick" so to speak.

If it is the Intona I'd ask for a new one and if it's the cable, I'd ask for a new cable. Ahum.
