Title: Is there a list of keyboard shortcuts for XXhighend?
Post by: easternlethal on January 27, 2010, 02:21:50 pm
Hey guys! I am using a Logitech Harmony Remote with Eventghost to control XXhighend, and the only way I can do that is to map my remote buttons to keyboard presses, which works very well. On the XXhighend interface itself some commands are underlined so I've managed to identify them pretty easily. However there are some commands I am unable to find the keyboard shortcut for, such as the keyboard command for calling up the library. Does anyone have a complete list of keyboard commands for XXhighend by any chance??

Thanks ever so much

Hi Russ, thanks. I was already posting it, but saw you coming up. And since it is your subject, I thought to leave it to you.
Haha.

But maybe create a new topic for it (support) and I will make it sticky.

Hi there,

Would you tell us what you have between the Logitech Harmony Remote and Eventghost.
Wow what kind of receiver do you use ??
I use WinLirc (IR-Assistant) with homemade IR Serial Port Receiver ($5) and it doesn't work flawless so......always looking for something else  ;)

Thnx

And does it work for you? or is EventGhost the answer ?

I did use the search function but all I got was a bunch of posts about Autohotkey when I typed in "keyboard command". same result for 'keyboard shortcuts' also.

anyway I have paid for my program so I feel entitled to ask reasonable questions here.

Audiodidakt I use usb-irt. it's a bit pricier but works fine for me.  Eventghost is solid, imo, and infinitely customisable. I can program my pc to boot up, launch xxhighend, turn on my amp and pre-amp, select the correct preamp input, turn on my tv (which is connected to the pc) and select the right av input on my pc by just pressing only one button on the remote. that's using a combination of USB-IRT, Logitech harmony, the infrared remote pc powersupply switch (from Simerec) and eventghost.

Thnx easternlethal,

Nice, hope you get the AHK's working, but this shouldn't be a big problem, I guess.
I was thinking about getting that start-up module myself.
If you have any questions just post them, no problem
Let "us" know if all works out with your personal xx remote.

Feel free to....not entitled (progress only goes this fast because people willing to share info, data and experiences this benefits all) ;)

Sounds somewhat nicer IMO
There only friendly people here, with no commercial means, you get best service anywere.
Calibrator (who made that topic anyway) always at your service like many other people here.
The forum is not always logic, but most is there, even humour sometimes
Even then xx is still to cheap.

Enjoy your music

Best,

Roy (Just a happy user)

u r rite about that, audiodidakt.

another question if I may: is there a shortcut for toggling the library? I would love to be able to press a button and have the library page come up so that I can browse for albums. Right now I have to use my remote to control the mouse to make the cursor go to the library tab and select it. (which exerts too much energy on my finger - just kidding).

No, that shortcut isn't there ... yet. But I'll put in on my ToDo list.

About your maybe less warm sounding welcome ... I think the combination with my remark about I was already posting but left it to Russ may have let you think I was about to post the same (about search !). But no, I just left the posting to Russ because he is used to answer that question. So, he got a little fed up with that at the moment, but then he is a hot headed Australian (hi Russ ).

I must admit that all together it looked a bit out of line, but didn't want to correct Russ either.
I hope it's okay now for all.

Btw, I'm often using search - takes more than 5 minutes mostly, *and* I know what to look for plus I know it is in there and written by whom. That makes a lot of difference. In either case : better ask one question too many than one too few.

haha ... I must have come across as a right old grumpy bastard with that post, but wasn't the intention, so apologies to you easternlethal if it seemed that way. A pet peeve of mine is the apparent lack of not using the search engine in any fora. Your question must have been asked before I had my daily dose of Vegemite

Cheers,

Russ

No harm done Calibrator. I appreciate your posts.

Peter - thanks a lot for putting this feature in your to-do list. just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that I am really loving your product. It whips foobar, itunes and even cplay. I know there a lot of skeptics out there who do not believe that one bit-perfect player is different from the next, but I have a pretty high grade system and every single person who has heard it (on my system) believes it to be better. I am not an engineer so I can't explain why that is but "the proof is in the pudding" - as they say. I think that engine #4 sounds better than #3 on my system but I have a firewire DAC, so the sound cuts out after a few seconds. I think that it's the same problem that USB users are finding with engine #4.

Looking forward to your next upgrade!

Thank you; nice to hear.

Yes, the problem is undoubtedly the same, although with USB it is "worse". But I have it under control now. I am now working on the "how to blend those different behaviors into one main structure", the one never debeting the other, but that is just a challenge. It will be in 5-04.

Funny to notice that my RME Fireface (Firewire connected) behaves "normal".

EventGhost works nicely overhere,

Just drag/drop the buttons from left to right.
It worked in like 3 minutes last night.
I could have done it in like 1 minute, but the play-button doesn't work. {ALT+P}
I think this is xx (AHK) problem.

I think anyone can install a remote this way.
Any kind, I guess
Also X-10 support. (RF for lightning)

and

You can even create your own ambilight this way.
Or whatever.

I don't know if there are still people without remote ??
