Hi Peter, This version works for my ........ I didn't have to do anything more that choose Engine 4 and a different device which was clearly labeled with KS:. Also the Audiotrak HD2 works with engine#4 without any errors or messages! Thanks. I need more time to listen to 09y-5-01. I like the sound of engine#3 in 09y-5-00. Greater involvement. All instruments have more authority...... Regards, Johan Works for me too. On x-fi/enterprise all good. Will check tomorrow on the other pc, but i'm sure it works too. Finally i can compare the SQ

Peter, Same issue on the music pc: win7 x64 Home Premium (i suspect engine 4 works only on ultimate!) Telstar,
Did you find time to listen to 3#Engine, I think there is improvement there ! I cant really say, but i put y5 in a separate folder and i can compare.

Hi Telstar,
You seem to have the same problem as JohanZ :
Name wanted : Primary Sound Device || Number of KS devices found : 2
... which - as how I think of it now - occurs because in XXHighEnd the devices aren't properly listed (the 3 error messages at startup). So, as long as that says "Primary Sound Device" it will NEVER work, because it wont match with one of the KS devices (behind the "Name attempt :").
You must give up on this, and wait until I solved this (which is about your Windows version using different Registry keys for this than e.g. mine (W7 32 bit Ultimate).
PS: I asked about this on one of the MS forums 6 days ago and just got NO answer. But we wil learn (it). Sorry about this.
Fine for me I'm going to try y-5 on the music pc today and hope all works there (still waiting for the damn new psu!) For me the popup windows on start (which also Roy has) are more annoying that not being able to use engine4

Hi Johan,
Maybe it is not clear, but what you said is just what I suggested, because both are the same : the Primary Sound Device. But what about the 3rd (which actually is the 2nd) ? Can you ever use that with Engine#3 ?
Peter
I just tried with my third of the list (spdif out) and it works. i dont have a dac to connect, but no error in xxhe. Same config as above, version y-5. You need me to try with y-4 as well?

Peter, try me: Start KS here Name wanted : Primary Sound Device || Number of KS devices found : 2 Filter found : \\?\pci#ven_1102&dev_0005&subsys_002c1102&rev_00#4&1542fbd&0&10f0#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223196}\spdifoutwave Name attempt : SPDIF Out Filter found : \\?\pci#ven_1102&dev_0005&subsys_002c1102&rev_00#4&1542fbd&0&10f0#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223196}\wavepci Name attempt : SB X-Fi Audio [EC00] No ambiguous devices found. Selected device not suitable for Kernel Streaming
I tried to rename the device in control panel as "SB X-Fi Audio [EC00]", but doesn't change a thing. Any other ideas?

Suppose you have 4 devices; the first one always shows as the Primary, but, the second one *is* that Primary. Q: Could you ever play the 3rd or 4th device without changing the Primary Sound Device ?
I have only two devices, besides the primary one: xfi (analog) and xfi spdif. Both in control panel and in xxhe interface. If changing names can help, how should i change them (sorry but it's not clear). See attached pic.

Every time when i start XX i get a error message. After 3 clicks this error message disappeared and the program starts. See attachment
Just installed y-05 on my main pc (x-fi soundcard, w7 enterprise x64). I get the same error message, and it requires 4 clicks to go away. I changed the device din xxhe to x-fi from primary driver, but the message stays. Tried engine3 and both no upsampling and 4x AP. All works the same. Will try KS soon and update.

What hardly anyone knows yet is that the Phasure NOS1 will offer 2 x 2 channels 24/192 in the standard DAC (or the normal 2 x 1 (then 24/384) by jumper settings and some 3dB better THD figures) or will offer 2 x 4 channels of 24/192 by means of two connected main DACs (in the same one housing). I must honestly say this is theory for now because (similarly to what I said elsewhere) it needs new PCBs and I don't have them yet. But all has been worked out for theories and design (it needs special software as well) and it should work.
I know, i know! And i am the one who asked for the 8 channel version... guess why? Exactly to do software crossover for my upcoming diy speakers. Now withstanding things are not straightforward especially without using VST plugins. A convolutor is cleaner, not as quick to change as a visual plugin such as Ozone, and very laggy (requires high buffer). Until is implemented within the xxhe software there is currently no other way to do it besides a VST host and VST plugins through asio. The biggest issue is that sample rate cannot be changed on the fly, it just doesnt work. Obviously i'm eagerly awaiting for both the dac and the convolutor/XO implemented in xxhe.
