Title: 50 | Windows 8 Tutorials - Wallpaper Coverart
Post by: PeterSt on June 03, 2013, 01:53:32 pm
In Windows 8 no Wallpaper Coverart is possible in Unattended Playback Mode (playing without the GUI / Control Program).

In Windows 8 no native "screen" exists anymore, and the services shut off for best SQ playback now do not allow to create a Wallpaper for this emulated "screen".
You will notice that in Attended Mode the Wallpaper Coverart is still possible.

It is strongly advised to NOT switch On Wallpaper Coverart when Unattended Playback is attempted for best SQ; something will happen (and keep on happening) under the hood, but it can come trhough anyway. So better shut it off.

Similar counts for the OSD Text, which by itself still works, but implies huge overhead - that again influencing SQ. To check this, you may try to switch on the OSD Running Time in digital form (not the bar). There you will see how difficult it is for the OS to maintain the time each second and how much it is working to do so anyway (during playback).
So for these too : better shut this all off.

This leaves you with a black screen and mouse pointer only ...
(unless of course you told XXHighEnd to shut off the Monitor at Unattended Playback).
