1  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Setting Q1 on: March 16, 2009, 07:45:49 pm
Hi Peter:

I purchased, so the limitations of the demo version are not a problem.

So you really want me to move to Vista, don't you?  Seems like a lot is missing off the XP version.  Guess that is for another day.

2  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Setting Q1 on: March 16, 2009, 02:02:37 am
Hi Peter:

Hate to be a bother, but I can't seem to reset Q1.   Purchased and activated the software.  The Q1 slider is visible, and I can see Q1=14 just under the pause button.  But I can't "grab" the slider and move it.  Tried going to the Q control screen, and I can see and change Q2 through Q5, but there is no information in that screen regarding Q1.

Using the latest version 0.9x-4.

Thanks,

Jon

Thanks Peter.  At least I have the answers.  I did not previously realize the significant memory constraints of XP.

Unless I move over to Vista I will just continue to use Foobar for the high-res.  Of course I am going to purchase XXHighEnd for use with RedBook CD's.  It is surprising how much better XXHighEnd is than Foobar, even when using ASIO on Foobar.
4  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Hi Res and XP on: March 12, 2009, 05:09:50 pm
I have a number of Hi-Res (24/192) files, mostly of short length, that I want to run using XP.  I downloaded the demo, and it works wonderfully on 16/44 (very impressive I must say).

My system consist of a XP laptop with 1G of memory, and a PCMCIA card interfacing with an E-Mu 1616M.  Foobar allows me to play my hi-res files without problem using this configuration.  But I am unable to set XXHighEnd to anything but 16/44.  Is this a limitation on the demo system, a problem with XP, or does my E-Mu driver limit me?  Is there some way to correct this problem?

This system has been used for demonstrations at various audio shows to great effect, and I love the portability.  Would like to continue to use this, but with the improved sound quality that XX provides.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Peter:

I was trying this on my laptop sound card to verify it works, then move to an external USB DAC for the Rocky Mountain Audio Show later this week.  But I need verification that this will work fine before going to the show.  Are there any issues you see, other than my being a beginner and needing to learn too much too fast?
6  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Problems with stopping playback on: October 07, 2007, 03:34:38 pm
I am running Vista on a Lenovo laptop.  When I ask XX to stop playing a track, either by hitting pause or stop, the last second of that track repeats endlessly.  I cannot get it to stop until I turn off the computer.  Sometime shutting off XX and restarting it will cause it to stop, but not always.

Is this an artifact of the demo version, or does my system have some incompatibility with XX?
