Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: File Names with Accents

Hi Ramesh,
Well, quite interesting on the accents. I have never seen it. However, I think I can reason how that works. So, with languages like "Chinese" and the like, two bytes are used to store the character. Escape one, and the character changes (quite similar to what you saw). Escape the second, and the whole reserved space for the character is now empty and the character gone.
... But this doesn't - and shouldn't happen over here, with our "normal" language. But maybe if your OS is set up for such a language ? (could even be encouraged for in your case)
This is all outside the real problem you report, and which is a bit hard to digest. But maybe I forgot how "intelligent" the program deals with the "shut down LAN" feature ...
When the "Copy to XX Drive by standard" is not active, a WAV will (or should) stay at it's original location because it doesn't require any treatment (opposed to FLAC and the like because they need conversion to WAV and the output always goes to the local space (XX Drive)). When I made it more intelligently, and activate / mimic the "Copy to XX Drive by standard" in the case of the LAN shutting down, it should be so that the copy procedure goes slightly different and now something goes odd with the accents. Point is and remains : I don't think I can mimic the situation in the first place because of the first little story above.
In the end something should be amiss somewhere. I mean, XXHighEnd is used all over the world, also with the OS set to Mandarin or whatever all exists, and most certainly also with the diacritical marks (which accents are) all over, let alone the titles of albums in just that language. This all works (as far as I perceive) unless now suddenly everybody jumps on me with a "not really !".
... And then I am suddenly thinking that the possibiliy exists that you just have an album with "file data" organized like that. I mean, this should work the same as I decribed. And maybe now suddenly this go strange. Alos notice that a diacritical mark just fits in that one byte space. But what if this comes from a file system that also allows for "Chinese" ... ?
30 minutes later ... I had better assume that my IQ is lower than assumed and that I have not made it automatically so that the "Copy to XX Drive by standard" would be implied when necessary (shut off LAN). That would have saved me 29 minutes. So, it is just that. But it also implies that your story ain't right. OTOH, it took me 30 minutes to properly test it (with the largest issue being the looking for suitable albums) so you could have tested it wrongly relatively easy. Thus, when the "Copy to XX Drive by standard" is not active, not any track plays and the message you receive just tells what it is (the file is not there when the LAN is shut down).
Regards, Peter

Hi Justin,
Thank you very much for this nice read on a Sunday morning.
I noticed you mention "we" a dozen times, and I like to tell you that you seem to assume a context - but it is not there. Not in the forum post. So in case you forgot, this context was given by you in your email of March 9, possibly March 10 on your side of the world. I just read it again, and I think it is very suitable to put to the forum just the same. Especially the "we" is special and not what people might think when they read it without context.
Would you care to just copy 1:1 that text from this one email ? Thus, from this long email to both Paul and me, starting with "Congratulations on your [...]".
I think it is very special that you took the time to write this all down afterwards, which often is the thing to forget, also taken into account the time passed after the first eufori.
Kind regards from here, Peter

OK. I think it is a good idea if you send me an album with which I can repeat it. With some albums all the time, never with others. This is probably (or obviously) why I surely had it once, but can not repeat it (I just don't know any more with which album I had the issue). Can you send it to me please (via Filemail.com or so) ? Peter

Hi there Arvind, If you have an idea how I could mimic that, then please let me know because else there is nothing to solve. I think if I could mimic this for one single time only, I will be able to see what I did myself (for sequence of matters etc.) to imply it. IOW, yes, I can envision it surely. But never experienced it ... Kind regards, Peter

Ultimate Audio Playback / Coverart / 05 | My Coverart does not appear or is not refreshed

It can happen - especially with new installs (first install of XXHighEnd for the Operating System) - that the Wallpaper Coverart of XXHighEnd does not appear properly. Along with that the exhibit is in order that the normal Wallpaper has also disappeared (black background of the desktop instead). The below procedure "sort of" solves this. "Sort of" because it never is quite clear what solves it exactly, but a sequence like the below and in maybe several attempts may get it done.
Prerequisite :
You must be able to change Wallpaper Settings to begin with. Thus, might your OS be in the stage that it sees that no Personalisation is possible because - for example - it is not Activated and which is recognized by the OS itself (this will (might ?) be so in Normal OS), then you can't set a Wallpaper to begin with. At least not by the normal means provided by the OS. Thus when this is the case (can't set a Wallpaper) it is better not to even attempt the procedure below. Do notice that this is also related to the UAC setting - when this is Off, you might not be able to set the Wallpaper, now because of lacking Apps for it. Notice that the UAC can be switched to On (or Off) via Rightclick in Stop and NOT by the normal means provided by the OS.
It is assumed that "Don't do anything with Coverart" (in XXHighEnd settings, Coverart section) is not activated. Also it is assumed that at this time Show as Wallpaper and At Attended both are active.
Press Stop in XXHighEnd. Go to Control Panel - Personalization. Again click Stop in XXHighEnd. In Personalization click one of the Themes with a background. This should now appear. Click Play in XXHighEnd. The Wallpaper Coverart will now appear (the normal Wallpaper will be disappeared). Click Stop. The normal Wallpaper should re-appear (this is crucial).
When the above all happens as described, the Wallpaper Coverart should always appear in actual form (from the track currently playing) and when played Unattended, all should be fine as well.
Notice that when "a" Wallpaper Coverart appears *but* it is always an old one, you need to re-do the procedure or try too improve on it. Usually you are OK as soon as the normal Wallpaper is able to re-appear after stop (see above).

Hi Leung,
Drive D: is not allowed to be used in a RAM-OS System. Same counts for X:. So that has to be the issue ... (or anyway by guarantee it *is* an issue in general).
Let me know whether this helps, kind regards, Peter
PS: You realize that you need to format the 3.4TB in a special way, right ? If you omit that, all beyond 2TB (written) is rubbish / not accessible.
