Title: RAM Disk and Unattended
Post by: dsm on December 07, 2013, 11:08:39 pm
Hello,

I just started using a RAM Disk for playback and it works well in attended but once I switch over to unattended, nothing will play. There are no errors or music. Unattended has work fine with the playback designated to the hard disk.
It will not work even if I just try to play just one song.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

David

Hi there David,

All I can imagine is that you defined the RAMDisk too small. 2GB is advised for Redbook material and otherwise your miles may vary.

Your mentioning of "even one track does not" is very good, but it may be too late because of things being full from a previous attempt. Also, already that one track can be way (too) large of course.
Always use the [ C ] button near the bottom before pressing Play because that will empty the RAMDisk.

Please come back to me when this doesn't help, but I really wouldn't know about other suggestions. The only difference with Unattended from Attended is that the former prepares all what's in the Playlist while the latter only deals with the current track. So there is some logic to your problem if only my suggestion above helps ...

Peter

Thanks Peter. Hitting the "C" button helped and now all is well.

Best,
