No, normal sounding music. The music plays normally for 8-9 minutes. No hickups or other stuff. Just beautifull sounding music. Then suddenly a sort of digitally IIIIIIh, AAAAAh, OOOOh sound with a sort of rhythm of the music. No messages of any kind.  When I then press Alt-X the music continues normally (off course the UI of the player pops up). And the music seems te haved moved on while the wrong sound was playing.
My friend Johan suggested to play the music without Engine 3. I'll try that.
It still is strange: "and I press Alt-x, after repressing the UI again, the music (most of the time) stays OK for the rest of the time."

I have no problem with a W10 upgrade to Professional, but I'm not sure this will help: I already let the W10 services which can be set off stay on...
I'm not sure when this all started. When I did the upgrade all worked well for some days.
I think it all started when I fiddled a bit with the Xtweaks. But after that I set these in the earlier settings and after trying XXHe denotes OPTIMAL

No Peter. With SFS=60: after a while the issue got back.

I will do that. (The settings are mostly as in my profile)
But.. what I forgot to mention is that when it happens and I press Alt-x, after repressing the UI again, the music (most of the time) stays OK for the rest of the time.
The troubles start Always after a restart of my PC.
Another thing: I mentioned earlier the hovering with the mouse. This "stutters" a bit while sweeping.
Now I will restart after setting the SFS to 60 and get back to you later

well.... the issue isn't over yet. I tried everything in the settings, but after eight minutes or so the sound "collapses" in a sort of digital mess. With the use of some imagination one could hear something of the original music. After using Alt-x the music continues normally. When I use Alt-x before the incident happens (so the UI is visible on the screen), it happens still every time after a while, but hovering with the mousepointer through the UI the music continues. Quite frustrating situation.

it wasn't the HDCD button also.
After that I thought it had to do something with the Coverart, for if I pressed Alt-X, the music continued playing normally again.
But first I'll try another button that wasn't there before: the W10 Services button. I set it OFF now, restarted  the PC and until now it seems to be OK.
Perhaps my Home Edition is not stable if the extra W10 Services are also set OFF?
With the Services ON the sound quality stays the same for my ears. Did I already tell you, I like the sound of this XXHe edition very, very much?

Hi Peter,
You were right: it was the "maximized" screen as set in the properties of the desktop icon of XXHe.
Since I set this to Normal, I don't get the strange message anymore. Futhermore I believe Slider 2 stays in the position I want it to. So, these problems seems to be solved.

I stumbled into another issue here: when I use Q5 (setting 1 or 5) the music plays normally about 10 minutes and after that suddenly only nasty digital sounds come out of XXHe.
When I use Q5=0: no problem

BTW: I also get the message: "Show CoverArt from Actual Album - 2147417834- Er kan niet worden uitgebeld  omdat de toepassing een asynchrone aanroep verzendt. (Uitzondering v. HRESULT: 0x80010100 (RPC_E_CANTCALLOUT_ININPUTSYNCCALL))" also with  "Apply CoverArt Background Image to Empty Area Only" not "On". So I Always get this message when I start up XXHe...
What other setting could give this effect?

Q. re.the slider: the pane you're referring to: is it the pane left with the thumbnail or the pane right (for the data)

Since a week or so I'm using XXHe204 with W10 Home Edition.
I'm very, very content with the sound quality.
In my system it's a huge leap forward in quality compared with the sound  from version 1.186a. Thank you!

I've still a small amount of questions/issues for you:
In my music dedicated computer system I use a small (10") VGA screen.
I've played a bit with the screen settings from XXHe and have now a reasonable looking UI with a convenient 4 rows of thumbnails.
The settings concerning the screen and coverart are now:
Skin Settings: Scale Factor 1.20. 
If I use "Apply CoverArt Background Image to Empty Area Only" I've the message on my screen after starting up XXhe: 
"Show CoverArt from Actual Album - 2147417834- Er kan niet worden uitgebeld  omdat de toepassing een asynchrone aanroep verzendt. (Uitzondering v. HRESULT: 0x80010100 (RPC_E_CANTCALLOUT_ININPUTSYNCCALL))" So I don't use it. 
What is the use of this choice anyway?

Every time I start XXHe, slider 2 is set to the left while I saved the settings with it way to the right (I never use the "Show Data" button at all)
Is this normal? For I find it a bit tiresome that I have to reset it every time (although less annoying than before when also with every time a playback was finished, the slider was set a bit to the left and the number of showed rows of thumnails was smaller..)
Is this a standard "issue" or can it be changed in a way?

What is the use of the slider on the mainscreen for the CoverArt Pane Picture Size? It doesn't effect anything...

Hi All,

in the race for the lowest SFS setting (mind you: with my non-NOS1a gear: lowest used SFS 0.47) I was not really happy with the SQ lately. After a weekend with a friend  (who is also XXHe, non-NOS1a user) we discovered that with a higher SFS setting, i.c. 62, the SQ was more relaxed and the sound stage was more natural, less upfront. I also think the bass is better. Less "tight"
To all non-NOS1a users: please try and share your opinion with us

Like I suggested Johan last week when he was here with me: if you don't like a track from an album: simply delete it forever. You aren't forced to listen to music you don't like at all...
In the digital world itsa simple.
