Title: What to do when W7 has installed several updates after SP-1
Post by: hf on October 14, 2011, 05:27:31 pm
Several people on this forum mention that you should be as close as possible to W7-SP1 and don't install any further updates. I noticed that my automatic update was switched off but not completely: several updates have been performed. What is the best to do (for SQ)? De-install them? And does anyone know how far I should go back?
Or is the influence on Sound Quality only minor (compared to other things)?

Note that I cannot easily install a fresh version of W7 since my Music Vault is an OEM machine. So I want to be very careful...

Kind regards,

Hein

Yes, uninstall them one by one. Best start at the last one installed ...

And Hein, notice that it is not only about SQ as such, but merely about that things may start to happen (like hicups because of slowyness) while you won't know why it happens / what is happening.

Regards,
Peter
