Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: ESI Juli Analogue P/B with AE3

Hi Andrew, excuse be, but here at the other end, I personally don't get what is not working or what you want, which propably is because, well, I don't know what you want to do with the card. The 24/48 confuses me even more (is that related ?), and btw, what you propose as a "DAC Test", is not. The DAC Test is the one but last choice under "DAC Is" and is to be performed with 16/44.1 files. But then I'm dutch ... So, please rephrase everything, and don't assume anyone knows what AE2 is. Or AE3. Or P/B. And mostly : I can playback via Audio Engine 3 via my ESI Juli@ spdif but not via my ESI Juli@ analogue; Where / what / how/ why / messages ? And I don't try to exaggerate ! In any case, might it be just "no sound" and "time cursor not moving", get yourself the latest here. Peter

What !? ... but you are right. That is, I just rechecked, and although I don't receive your message, I can see that the DAC keeps on running at 96KHz.
I don't know how I tested this before, but usually I do this without sound, like now (what if things go wrong eh). Sorry, and thanks for mentioning it !

Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / No sound anyone ?

All, There is one user with the situation the soundcard won't get selected for Engine#3 ( XXHE 09x-6a errors). So far I do know where it goes wrong, but there seems to be no reason why. Is there anyone out there who can't get sound with Engine#3 from 0.9x-6a or 0.9x-6b ? If so, please report this; possibly similarities can be found. Thanks very much, Peter

Ultimate Audio Playback / Music Storage and convenient playback / Re: CD format support in xxhighend

Hi Ivo, Yes, I actually do. I will combine it with the ripping though because both require similar procedures new to me. However ... I plan to make ripping fast as, well, light, but check for errorneous ripping the same time. Just because I didn't do/try it yet, I think I can . Next is : during playback the same process will happen. Why not ? if anything must be good it is the ripping, so if it's good I can use it for playback as well. Now ... Assumed ripping indeed is faster (anyway net, compared to normal speed of playback, and after some prebuffering), there won't be a difference compared to playing back a file from disk, right ? One thing : you must have an outboard CDRom player, like mine which connects over Firewire. Now, who wants to rip CDs ? Actually, those who don't want the convenience of computer stored music. But I can tell you, I ripped many many CDs only because I have to listen to them before I can decide they are worth nothing. I don't even throw them out anymore because it would be a waste of time already spent. So ... good idea ? Peter PS: Nice topic for a board named "Music storage *AND* convenient playback" !

Yep, just found it. A left over from debugging. Sorry. You can avoid it by going to the Library Area, click a "music" from the Embedded Explorer, and quit XX. This is about the Favorites.dat file being empty. The aboves put an entry in it. And, the tracks Im trying to play has not a folder.jpg saved. I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you say here. Or do yuo just mean "it can't be about coverart ?". Then I understand. Ok.

Yes, I understand this. Plainly my fault. This "ReorganizeProxy" thing has been made for Engine#3, and the other day I saw that part of what it's doing has sneeked into Engine#1 and #2. And because it *can* be part only, a next call to the Engine#3 situation fails. So all 'n all this will be because of you used Engine#2, and then hopped over to #3. Peter
