Hi

Is anyone using this Os with xxhe ?. I cannot enable engine 3 and the only possible option is engine 1.

This requires explicit recognition of the OS from within XXHighEnd, and it is not there yet.

Unzip below 0.9w-6a version into your current XX folder (and save the old XXHighEnd.exe first !), and start it.
Set switch Log Activities to On (Settings Area), quit XXHighEnd and restart it.

Go to the TemporaryData folder (subfolder from your current XX folder), and find the newest XX- logfile. In there the second line shows how the OS is reported. Please copy-paste (not write it yourself) this line (which looks like : OS Name is ...) in here.

After doing this, set back your saved XXHighEnd.exe version, because 0.9w-6a is half baked !! and it should not be used for normal operation.

If you can do this ASAP (hence within a few hours from now) you can use Windows7 in the upcoming 0.9w-7 version.
... If it works for Engine#3 ... which we can't tell yet.

Thanks,
Peter

Ok Peter this is the output:
16:22:48.2009692 : OS Name is Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
I'm using the 64bit version with XXHighEnd-09v-7 (better sound for me)

Thanks

XXHighEnd
To infinity and beyond!!!
I'm just getting home from work and saw there is a new version ... and (imagine me crying tears of joy) smaller bit perfect volume control steps.  Wow peter, you really should get a patent for that; I'm sure a lot of math/work has gone into this and I don't know of anyone else/player able to herald this accomplishment.... everyone else just says,, "aww you won't hear the bits being taking away".  Nice design with the red/green indicators.  We should all be so happy that Peter doesn't treat us as idiots and tells us straight up when things are compromised or working the way they should.  Good job and many thank yous.  Hope to download/setup soon/later.

Hi Peter.

It seems to be difficult to find out which version 0.9w-7 (seven) or 0.9v-7 (server2008) sounds better. Is it possible to have a 0.9v-8 version
with seven support?

Hahaha, no, I am sorry !
(not that I don't want, but this is just not possible (anymore)).
