Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / CPU usage information dispay flickering

Peter, Playing unattended, I went to Windows Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del) to check the current CPU usage. It occurred to me that the CPU usage bar display is flickering and I am pretty sure that this is caused by playing XXHE. I s this your intention, or is something wrong in my setup? Cheers, Eric.

Peter, the Services button works fine, no problem there.
However, after completing playing an album. I exit XXHE. Now the Services are not automatically restored by XXHE. So, I do have to start XXHE again to use the Services button. Or, I have to use the Services button before I leave XXHE. In any case, it requires a manual action. I would expect XXHE to automatically bring up Services and return to the "normal" Vista desktop when I exit XXHE.
Note: I play unattended with wallpaper switched on. Important: I did not start AutoHotkey before I start playing, because I have no intention to interrupt the play. When I do start AutoHotkey and I use Alt-x to interrupt and stop XXHE, the problem does not occur!! Hope this helps, Eric

Peter, after finishing playing XXHE 0.9x-5b, the Windows Desktop is not returned to the original setup (looks like the same kind of problem as in 0.9x-5, not being fully fixed in 0.9x-5b). I have to manually bring up the services again using XXHE Settings. This works fine, but IMHO should be done automatically. If this is a known bug to you, I apologise for reporting it again.
BTW, I am totally in awe re. SQ. My reference tracks sound like heaven. Please don`t change that anymore !!!!!!!
Cheers, Eric.

Peter, after having played an album (or a track), I close XXHE and apparently the (stopped) services are restored. I am now back on the desktop. However, something has changed. The Windows Start button has changed to a different icon, and also the whole look and feel of Vista is different. Looks like also the resolution has changed. I hope that this description helps you to find what goes wrong and to fix it.
Cheers, Eric.

Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Windows Start icon on screen in XXHE 0.9x-5

Peter, re. Model 0.9x-5, When I start XXHE with Show as Wallpaper and Stop Services ticked, there is still a small Windows Start icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Is this as designed ? I can start XXHE again through this Windows menu, so I do not necessarily need Alt-X, Right ?
Ciao, Eric.

Yep -- Problem solved ! THANKS Peter.
Probably some new topics:
When I start XXHE with Show as Wallpaper and Stop Services ticked, there is still a small Windows Start icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Is this as designed ? I can start XXHE again through this Windows menu, so I do not necessarily need Alt-X, Right ?
I would also like to know which services are being stopped by XXHE because I used to stop services like Spooler, WinDefend etc. manually before I start using XXHE. Can I skip doing that or does it still make sense to continue stopping services manually ?
Ciao, Eric.

Peter, followed your instructions up to Right Click Edit (previous steps did not produce required result). The following is shown in a new window:
; IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT GETTING STARTED: Lines that start with a ; semicolon, such as this one, are comments. They are not executed.
; This script has a special filename and path because it is automatically ; launched when you run the program directly. Also, any text file whose ; name ends in .ahk is associated with the program, which means that it ; can be launched simply by double-clicking it. You can have as many .ahk ; files as you want, located in any folder. You can also run more than ; one ahk file simultaneously and each will get its own tray icon.
; SAMPLE HOTKEYS: Below are two sample hotkeys. The first is Win+Z and it ; launches a web site in the default browser. The second is Control+Alt+N ; and it launches a new Notepad window (or activates an existing one). To ; try out these hotkeys, run AutoHotkey again, which will load this file.
#z::Run www.autohotkey.com
^!n:: IfWinExist Untitled - Notepad WinActivate else Run Notepad return
; Note: From now on whenever you run AutoHotkey directly, this script ; will be loaded. So feel free to customize it to suit your needs.
; Please read the QUICK-START TUTORIAL near the top of the help file. ; It explains how to perform common automation tasks such as sending ; keystrokes and mouse clicks. It also explains more about hotkeys.
Next steps please........ Thanks, Eric.

Hello Peter, I am experiencing the same behaviour. I do get the green H shortcut icon created on the desktop. When I double click on it, the following message appears: AutoHotkey.ahk An older instance of this script is already running. Replace it with this instance ? Note: To avoid this message, see #SingleInstance in the help file. Ja NeeWhatever I click, Ja or Nee, it does not matter: in either case, ALT-X does not bring up XXHE. (so, until this has been solved, the goodies from 0.9x-5 cannot be used by me). Cheers, Eric.
