Title: Ticks Observation
Post by: Scroobius on December 27, 2012, 01:59:33 pm
Interesting I just noticed that (approx nrs of course)

SFS=2 ticks ~ 100hz
SFS=4 ticks ~ 50hz
SFS=8 ticks ~ 25hz
SFS=16 ticks ~ 12hz

So maybe the ticks never disappear at higher SFS they are just are more spread out until they are not noticed.

Of course. Because the ticks appear at SFS boundaries anyway.
I thought this was clear already ? Ok, apparently it was not. :)

Ha ha.

Before others don't understand anything of this : the Hz numbers from Paul are completely virtual and meant to indicate the relativeness (or relation). But when we state that the Hz is per minute today, it would be rather close. :yes: Well, for 24/705600 playback.

Yes Peter well said an error on my part I really meant ticks per minute.

.... or at least I just noticed them. Listening to Bach organ music Fantasia in A Minor the sustained organ notes show up "ticks" modulating the music. I can reduce the frequency by increasing SFS so I guess they are associated with the SFS tick problem. But they are only noticeable with loudish music as soon as the volume drops they disappear. At least that is the way it sounds to me. The problem does not disappear when engine #4 is stopped before starting playback. Maybe organ music shows this up more than other music because of the sustained organ notes I have not otherwise noticed it with other music.

The ticks sure were still there (see other topic). Were, because since last night they are not anymore.
Not here. :)

Yes, I hear these ticks with same type of music. Playing the album Aura by Miles Davis, the ticks are almost as loud as the music sometimes, even with version 8c.

Waiting for new version ..... :) ....
