Title: Internal OS HDD in XXHE PC
Post by: briefremarks on March 28, 2016, 11:22:59 pm
Preparing to get the RAM-OS upgrade done in the next day or so.  Opened the XXHE PC quickly last night and did not see the internal OS HDD easily.  I see the CD drive and the 2.5" removable SDD bay, as well as the empty 3.5" removable HDD bays.

I see the three SATA ports, and it would be good to know which one is connected by default to the internal OS drive.  Would just disconnecting the SATA cable at the motherboard be sufficient?

On this point, should we disconnect the CD drive as well?

Some of this is probably obvious.  Just making sure I don't mess up.

Yes, and at that side indeed. And disconnect the power.

Yes you can do that. At some stage that might be inconvenient although I didn't use it myself for at least a year now.
