Title: What are those ... in XX GUI?
Post by: PietPara on April 03, 2010, 12:37:51 am
Hi,
I wasn't able to find an explanation of two items in the XX GUI. Maybe someone can explain this.

1) There is a small graphic of an "f" with green, yellow and red dots next to the volume slider. What is it? It's not always there, and don't know why it disappears sometimes.

2) There is a small green bar at the left edge of the GUI next to the Double and Quad buttons. What does it mean? It turns green sometimes when I select AI upsampling.

thanks
PietPara

For an answer to 1) , I think you may be referring to Volume functionality, but not sure where the "f" comes into it. Release notes in here ...

edit: see next reply

For an answer to 2) , have a look at the second bullet point at the top of the release notes here ...

As a general rule, Peter uses a sequence of colours to indicate the state of a command being processed. Trying to remember some of the lesser used ones is where it taxes the grey matter .. hehe

Cheers,

Russ

Ignore response to question 1 above .....

You are referring to the FLAC symbol which shows when playing those types of files.
Other formats will have their unique indicator shown.

Hey Russ, thanks.

For the bar in the GUI I only use green. Besides, it is a kind of unreliable (it often won't reset).

For the OSD Running Time (Unattended), yello means the command is currently being processed - grey means that processing is awaitening a moment to do it (other things may be processed at the moment like switching tracks) - and green isn't used anymore (well, it still is in there, but I don't think the particular code can become active anymore).
