Title: Huge processor load 0.9z-7
Post by: Gerard on August 15, 2012, 09:54:32 am
Peter,

I used the settings that where advised and with those i get a few plops and ticks during playback.

In Taskmanager i see that the processor goes from around 5% to sometime's 45%

When i look in de processen tab i see that engine3 is doing that.

Does that mean my processor is to slow?? (E8500 Dual 3.16 GHZ )

Or do you have other idears?

 :)

G'day Gerard,

if it's any help, I'm running a E8400, but overclocked slightly ( 10%) so it effectively runs at 3.3Ghz. My CPU graph below shows the load running unattended under minimal system config, with 48 buffers for my Juli@ card, and a Q1 of 7.

I believe your CPU load will increase as the Q1 value is decreased, so perhaps you might try raising your Q1 a little if you currently have it low. I currently have SFS set at 315, but I don't think that affects the continuous load. Those spikes you see on my graph are at SFS boundary I think, and the last is at track boundary.

Hope this helps a little for reference.

Cheers,

Russ

This is completely normal and as it looks like, coming from a low SFS as well. Nothing changed here, but you changed settings Gerard ...
