Title: Plays track from previous playlist
Post by: Matt E on September 16, 2010, 12:17:17 pm
Often XXHighEnd plays a track from my previous playlist instead of the intended track. Any ideas how to stop this?

I will post setting if someone can tell me how to find them.

Cheers

Matt

If it is what you mean ... At the bottom of the Settings Area there is a Log Activities button. Activate that. Now, in the TemporaryData folder under your XX folder there will be XX, X3 and X3PB files. You could post them from the "session" concerned (look at the date/time in the file names). Notice that you'll often need two XX log files for that one "logical session".

Is this with Unattended ?
How do you exactly cause the next playlist to be played ? (please start with something like "The last track from the still current playlist is playing, and next I ...")

You can explicitly cause it to stop this by quitting XXHighEnd when no playback is going on and restart it. But it should work OK in the first place ...

Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for that. I have started to 'Log activities', so will post when it happens again.

I don't have it in unattended mode

To get a new playlist I 1) stop the current song, 2) click the up arrow at the bottom of play commands area (pop-up reads 'clears playlist area'), 3) click on 'Explorer' button, 4) add the songs I want, 5) play them and then.......after a few songs one of the songs from the previous list often starts playing. This is intermittent so I can't predict when it will happen.

Any ideas?

Matt

Hi Matt - No clues yet here, maybe apart from you using Explorer to fill the Playlist Area which I only use seldomly, plus I always use Unattended.

I think the most important thing to know right now is what file types you play (e.g. FLAC, and only if you can tell that they are always the same this will be something reliable to work with), what upsampling you use if any, if you have "Copy to XX Drive" activated, if it involves HDCD material.

I am sure this has been reported before (could be near to a year ago) but I don't think I ever found a culprit in this area. I must add though that now knowing the sequence you apply, it should be solveable very easily. So, there are caches and stuff all over, but I don't think I clear them at clearing the Playlist Area like you do it ... which would even be a bug now I think of it.
Yep, concider that done for 0.9z-3.

I don't think I need the Log files.
Thanks,
Peter
