Title: Splitter Bar (and a quick note re Activation)

Please notice : this seems to be related to one of the vertical splitter bars appearing right in the middle of the form somewhere but this behaviour could not be copied hence it could not be explicitly solved. It may be solved now though. Please report if you still see this happening.

Splitter bar #2 has always moved from the right side of the settings area and stuck itself in the middle of that area whenever I am working in various parts of the XXHE settings.  For example, if I click to go into Minimized mode, it always moves over.  I don't think this was happening in the latest version until I activated it; since activation it's back to "normal," i.e., shifting around.

I pretty much always do a "clean" install of a new version - uninstall the OCX and wipe out the directories - and it seems (as you can probably tell from all the refund requests - sorry!) I always have to go through the PayPal process to get an activation code that works.  Tried with the previous activation code in this version and it did not work.

Seems logical to me if you first wipe out everything. No ?

But about the splitter bar ...
First off, thanks for being a test case and announce yourself with it;

Can you tell me what ever could be specific in your situation ? I mention the things I can think of myself :

- Put XXHE in full screen;
- Change that DPI setting of the monitor (100%, 125%, 150%);
- Scaling factor in XXHE;
- Font used (??) in that Scaling screen of XXHE;
- Maybe special positioning of things ? (yea, how to know; a screenshot perhaps ?)

What will be important for me is
a. being able to have all right (and telling me how to);
b. being able to unambigiously let it happen (and telling me how to).

I am sure others may be able to help out with this just the same, because I see it happen to many while I myself never saw it. I think it concurs with the situation that the right part of the screen rapidly grows (or shrinks) at XXHE startups, because I hear that often as well.

Thanks ...
Peter

Hi,

same problem on my screen with screen settings since years.

Pressing the No. 2 in the upper right corner the split bar disappears, but comes back during selecting the next album.

No way I can let tis happen. And since I *think* Joachim is initially setting XXHighEnd to full screen I tried that too, but nothing.

Gerard, maybe you can explain it to me. A precise sequence of happenings from when it is all right to when it is wrong. It can't be simple hence you must be doing something I never do and can't guess. Could even be using Remote Desktop. I don't know. So, please ?
Same for Joachim. And if I see the two of your sequences I might see the similarity in both.

Start out with checking your 100%, 125, 150% in display settings and tell about that too.

Thanks a lot,
Peter

Peter, I will try to catalog some of the circumstances where this happens. There are quite a lot of them, though.  Generally they involve clicking buttons or resizing.  It's always that #2 divider that moves.

OK, I'm tracking this down a little better now.  It involves resizing as a precondition.

XXHE always starts for me in a non-maximized state.  If I leave it that way, the splitter bar is fine.  But if I first maximize XXHE, then the following two actions will move splitter bar #2 over to the left so it looks like Joachim's screenshot:

- Using the explorer to select a track to play

- Anything that causes a dialog box to come up (the splitter bar moves when OKing the dialog), such as a change in the Settings area that involves a dialog, or selecting Minimize OS.

This has stayed constant over two monitors with two different aspect ratios so that's not it.  Did it in both Win 7 and 8.

I do have one single non-default desktop setting, which is that I've got desktop icons set as large as they'll go.  Fonts, etc., are normal size.

Hope this info helps.

This should allow me to mimic the situation. Thanks a lot Jud !

Solved for the next version. There was some stupid ever back test code in there which remained active by accident.

Jud, thanks for the layout because I never may have found it without that.
