Title: Problems with playback
Post by: Ava12 on December 14, 2007, 03:43:04 pm
Since 2 days I've been having serious problems with the audio playback via XXHighEnd. I'm using XP with XXHighEnd 0.9sb-2. During playback i'm hearing klicks and plops. Irregularly, when I'm moving my mouse over the display it's getting worse. It's going that far, that there are breaks in the music. It's sounding awfully "digital" like skratches on a cd, but there weren't any, and for comparison the payback via foobar is still ok, with the same files. Although I don't really like to listen my precious music via foobar anymore, since I use XXHighEnd. I beg you to healp me . I'm helpless. I try to sent you an example, if you like, and are interested in this bug. Hopefully it's only my system^^

Hi Tobias,

Sorry to hear this.

Of course I'm interested in your problem, just to help out ...
I hope I can though.

The obvious question : what changed this two days ago ? of course there must be something ...
You can send an example, but I don't think that will help.

When you have these kind of problems, set the Processor Scheme "No Appointment", and reboot to be certain all will be as normal as can be. Same with the Priorities (set them to "Nothing").

If that does not help at all, please attach a screencopy of your cpu useage (Taskmanager - Performance) during playback.
If it does help, we'll proceed from there.

Peter

Any relation with this problem from the past? : http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=144.msg744#msg744

(I only had that problem with engine#3 and Vista. It was USB related)

Thank You!!!
I think it is that problem.
Except I'm using Windows XP on a laptop. I'm trying to specify it more, yet I can say that the reason was, that I connected ma external Logitech G15 keyboard to the laptop and it destroyed the SQ. It's not only happening when you're using two USB connectiions on your motherboard but also when you're using a USB Hub in between. That's sad. As Peter already pointed out it should be a general problem with the USB interface, isn't it?
Since some while I had the concern that my external soundcard the Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Audio Notebook is actually no real Pc-Card-Express soundcard but a USB soundcard connected to the USB connectors in the PC-Card-Interface.->sad
But thank you very much for your quick help!!!!
with regards Tobias
