Title: Tidal names to long
Post by: Bigear on July 03, 2016, 12:04:16 pm
Hi Peter,

I got an error message when I tried to prepare a music stream from Tidal which mentioned that filenames can't exceed 260 characters.  After that, xxHIghend crashed.
Any way to get around that?

Thanks,
Quint

Hi Quint,

Which XXHighEnd version is that ? (I'd say I solved that)

Example of the album ?

Thanks,
Peter

Using 2.04c now. Got the message when preparing:

Michael Matthes  Saint Saens-Symphonie"Avec Orgue" - Le carnaval des Animaus.

Searching on Michael Matthes @ TT bring this album up.

Yep, I see the problem.

So there's a provision for this alright, but it seems that there's holes in it. :(

No work around that I know of ...

Anyway it seems that two things go wrong at the same time in there; first that presented error message (3x, which would be quite OK, but should not happen) and then indeed XXHighEnd crashing. This latter makes it suspicious and the indication that something might be going wrong which lets fail the workaround for that length error.
Alas, you don't care. It must be solved ...

Peter

This is solved for version 2.07.
