Hey Glynnw, I don't use galleries either. I'm not having your problem at all. Highlighting an album in left window, sends it to center window. Doule click and it loads here no problem. Maybe you should check log activities and send the appropriate file to Peter.

Thanks. I happen to be off work this week. Haven't gotten past the couch today!

Hey Danny, what core appointment scheme are you using? Buffer size changes here depending on the scheme. I've been using Q1=1 @ 2046, Scheme 2.

Thanks Danny.

In Demo mode, do all functions of kernel streaming work? (Adaptive, special, arc prediction etc.) Just wondering cause I'm going to be walking someone through XX for the first time and its been a long time since I used Demo!

Can't access the playlist button if the GUI isn't fully opened, which I don't always do (expand the GUI) cause I'm addicted to substance not form, though this new form be beautiful  Happy  and I love the sound of Unattended.

Holy sh*t! Again, WTF!

Just did an A-B with 9y-8. Played Imagine, Eva Cassidy, in 9z louder than ever before. More resolution in the top end than Iv'e ever heard. Then played the same 9y-8. Can't believe the distortion that was there. Both versions set to Signature.

Awesome!

Maybe putting the playlist button right in the center above the counter would look cool!

Okay, found the currently playing playlist button! Its the musical note in the upper left corner of the center screen.

I would recommend that this button be moved down in the play, load, clear button area. It's a little confusing having it "way" up there.

Roy , clear playlist is the arrow pointing up. Load is the one pointing down. I don't see a button to go to currently playing playlist.

Hey Peter. I really like the new gui. Took some sorting out but I think I've got most of what I regularly use figured out.

One of the things that I noticed was that XX is much faster at loading songs into memory and beginning play. (Scheme 2)Its lightening fast here. I made sure from the first set up that logging activities was turned off.

One issue I've noticed is that there is no way to get back to a currently playing playlist, if you've left that screen, without reloading the playlist. There is just no button for "playlist" like in the other versions. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

The sound is Sweet too!

So, is sound quality at all changed using tri or quad core processors?

True, but Chris's impression is that the sound beats the Hiface.
1020  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Split File Size on: May 14, 2010, 03:34:17 pm
Had some issues with my laptop and had to defrag 3x's to get it running right. Afterwords XX was still way to slow so I deleted a "Misbehaving Config" file (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=709.0 ). Whenever XX starts running slow that has always been the fix for me. However when I next tried XX I got the "Device Allocated But Cannot Play" error. I lowered the Split File Size from 200 to 60 and XX started working again; however, it sounded like cr*p. Mids and highs were way too thin sounding. I spent the next two days frickin' pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was going on, initially I thought it was the amp and started rolling tubes..... I then noticed that I had constant hard disk activity (okay, so I'm a little slow, I got that!) and I increased the split file size back up to 200. Hard disk completely settled down and presto, my smooth, full sound was back. I didn't automatically increase the split file size when the sound was wrong cause I assumed XX wouldn't work! It seems that it took the computer time to "adjust" to being defragged, during which time I had to lower the split file size. After it "settled in" I could raise the size back up to 200. Just thought I'd share, but I am wondering  why reducing the split file size was a necessary step to get things going again. Also, is there an ideal or preferred split file size?
