It will be done after Arc Precition, because only then the exact frequencies are known. Arc Prediction is a preprocess, and the xover part will come behind it (like a convolver would).

Then it will use a LOT of computing power, unless you can let the DAC do some of the work.

Don't be afraid I won't do it, if you only imagine that the 8 channel version has been developed for one person only also

and it really took a very large deal of the development time (still not finished, and he will have to wait some longer too). But, I seriously think there will be quite some people wanting it, if you only know what it can bring for sound quality (see previous post ... I'm fairly sure).

I've tried it, not with a SOTA dac, and the improvement is huge especially in the transparency department.
There's no way back to passive XOs for me.

I’ve mentioned before that the Pass has a slew rate of 30 volts/microsecond – in Nelson Pass’s own words: “... which is about 30 times faster than the fastest signal you will ever see, and about 100 times faster than what you will be listening to.”

So how ‘fast’ is fast enough?

Mani.

I know Nelson's quote (it's also in a book that i have), but I think much more is needed, something like 1v/us per Watt.

And especially one thing: current slew rate, not voltage slew rate.
One day i'll find a mean to measure it Happy

Is that allowed for an Italien ? Happy

When Spain was playing vs Germany everyone here was cheering for Spain.
Yesterday here was silence. We watched (in HD) the first 5 (to see the players) and the last 15 mins (to see who won). All silence from neighbors and ppl in streets and bars.

That's all we are in to soccer  innocent

202  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your questions about the PC -> DAC route / Re: BEST DAC on: July 02, 2010, 02:55:56 pm
I think this is the right thread to ask you this: does this opamp output a transient perfect square wave?
What worries me the most about IC is the multi-stage global NFB. afaik all opamps are multistage, but i could be wrong.

Anyway, speed is king.

Here's another example : Faith from George Michael. I mention this one, because it occurred to me that it wouldn't work as I wanted before. You could also say that I didn't get the feelings with it, I recalled from when being a tad younger, women involved. It was too sterile and had no slam. It didn't have the power the tough guy on the cover expresses, no matter how gay he is.

In short George Michael is not Boy George  whistle
204  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: SQ of 09-z2 on: June 30, 2010, 05:32:08 pm
Why don't you share your thoughts about the latest version of XXHE? Personally I prefer z1.

Why? Happy

Tried that, it doesnt help ^^

206  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / How to fix the hidden xxhe window? on: June 26, 2010, 03:47:29 pm
This buggy bug is also in z2.
I normally open task manager and maximize the xxhe program, but then i have to keep the window full screen.
There's a quick fix? I remember Peter said something before....
207  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: SQ AP,AI and Buffersize on: June 25, 2010, 05:00:28 pm
On my studio pc i'm using now 2048 samples with Q1=1.
1024 worked fine but rarely i got the "tto many buffers error", so i raised the buffers and all is good now. VERY good.
208  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 09-z2 does not create subfolders on: June 25, 2010, 04:58:44 pm

209  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / 09-z2 does not create subfolders on: June 25, 2010, 12:14:50 pm
Fresh install in separated folder.

data
TemporaryData

are not created. After manually adding those, the "!CurrentlyPlaying.PLXX"  and "!Played.PLXX" are being created in the data folder.

Note that logging was off.
Thought it was fixed with z-1  Wink

That's all for now.
210  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / 09-z2 stops playing and/or crashes on: June 25, 2010, 12:11:21 pm
Well, yesterday i finally tried the latest version on my music pc, where i was using the "stable" version which is y9.

z-2 stopped several times  when playing in the middle of a track. Note that i didnt try previous Z versions there.
Other times crashed.

Unfortunately I didnt have the logs enabled, so cant send em. Will try again on sunday or monday with logs.
