Post by: topline on December 01, 2007, 02:13:30 pm
Hello

Have a problem with engine 1 in XP, usb.audio.dac out. It plays a few track before it stop, and the engine shows in red. Sometime it's ok with flac but not with wav files. Whats wrong??

Hi,

When "#1Engine" shows in read, it indicates that you chose Engine #1 to play with, but instead XXHighEnd switched to Engine #2 because #1 could not cope with the file size (which is limited to (uncompressed) 64MB).

Now, when the sound stops right at switching internally to Engine #2, it means that most probably you did not set your Primary Sound Device to the one you actually chose for playback with Engine #1. Note that with #1 you can choose from the list of devices, which #2 does not allow (it always takes the first listed (actually the second, because the first one is mentioned as "Primary Sound Driver", being the one listed right underneath that)).

I hope it is not too confusing ...
