Of course the "purpose" of Peak Extend is not distortion related. That is, it never has. But, it by accident did influence (for the better but peoples M'sV'd) because the normal situation (PE Off) implied distortion (officially inaudible). Peak Extend is to be combined with HDCD; it should never had have its own life, but it did because of the normal situation not working 100%. Now it's just equal in both with and without Peak Extension. Btw, when no HDCD is in order it can be Off or On - it should not matter a thing. Peter |
