Title: Non NOS users - what are your settings?
Post by: ivo on October 05, 2012, 11:12:55 pm
Hi,

I noticed that those who have NOS devices almost as one prefer KS-Adaptive mode. I suspect that is because it is designed for that mode???
Is there anyone with NOS device preferring KS-Special mode?

And now:
I am not NOS user and I liked KS=Special mode before z73. I am interested if that is fine if I start with the same settings in z74 for KS-Special mode as I used in z6?

My main settings are:
Q1=1
xQ1=1 (I suspect xQ1 is more for Adaptive mode)
KS-Special, 2048
SFS=400
Straight Cont.

Ivo

Ivo, the NOS1 (that's what you meant I think) indeed is designed for Adaptive Mode.

You can always look in people's sigs of course.

But generally, when one uses KS Special Mode, Q1 in combination with Device Buffer Size will always be the lowest reachable (not ticks and such). So, this counts for you too, although of course it is for you to decide. But regarding this, you just can't copy people's settings because it will vary per DAC/Interface. It is about the resulting number of samples which is also related to the bit depth and sample rate (see X3PB log file I think for the resulting number of samples) and IIRC I played with 128.

Hope this helps,
Peter
