91  Ultimate Audio Playback / Cables (Community induced) / Re: Cables with BNC Connectors/Adapters Are Generating A Superoir SQ on: September 10, 2014, 08:30:34 am
Hi Joachim, Peter

toddn has FULLY balanced system, meaning his amplifier input is balanced one, not single end (RCA). Why would he go BAL / UNBAL route ?

Peter,

If my reading glasses are still good, JohanZ was asking "The Title Of That (good) CD"
Will you please let Bert reply on JohanZ's request. I'm interested too.
Bert, please share with us the name & artist of that good jazz CD.

94  Ultimate Audio Playback / Phasure NOS1 DAC / Re: NOS1a : A new "tweak" on: August 12, 2014, 10:29:52 am
Coen, you get 47V AC or 11V AC Neutral to PE ??

And for PCI card isolation: did anyone really tested isolation? 'Cause (my case at least) as soon as card is put in slot
or molex connector is in, there is connection PCI card (gnd plane) - PC chassis. As if card's bracket is normally fitted & bolted.
95  Ultimate Audio Playback / Playback Tweaks and Source related subjects / Re: USB to PC chassis ground ? (noise) - The biggest change ever ! on: May 17, 2014, 04:04:02 pm
Be VERY careful with USB ground left lifted inside NOS1 and USB cable connecting other USB3 port (than Silverstone card).
Peter already warned on this situation - can lead to frying NOS1's USB receiver...

Time to learn from youngsters Happy. I have their album 'In2ition'. A good one.

Hope you already have Apocalyptica's 'Inquisition Symphony', worth at least for this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-B8k0n_3cs

And here is something that will certainly put a smile on your face: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKezUd_xw20

Hey Peter,

Bold text with stars... most probably you wanted to say: "Sheer Entertainment", right? Happy

And what about Juan's 'old' drum/cymbals suggestion: Count Basie / Dizzy Gillespie alb. "The Gifted Ones", Track #6, "Ow!"
(most pbbly you have the disc already)

Thks,
George

Correct - no problems here.
100  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: XXHE 1.186a on Win7 - what went wrong? on: February 25, 2014, 11:18:41 am
Music root was there, nothing added/modified etc.
What is of relevance and I forgot to mention in my previous post is that I started XXHE from hard disk, Unattended (w/ HT 'on').
When no errors showed I continued with RAMdisk(s) creation. 'Playback drive' field was empty of course, added only upon starting XXHE from RAM.

Since I'm not using much keybord keys (except Alt+S & Alt+X) what can I try here for testing? Teamviewer session is ok as well, if needed.

Hi Anthony,

I just made PC restart to remove RAMdisks from memory (and kill active .AHK) then copied new files over old ones.
Second thing was renaming the directory to reflect the version change. Made changes - proper directory for XXHE Shortcut (C disk)
and .BAT file as well. Second move was deleting old Shortcut pointing to RAMdrive and creating new one after creating new RAMdrives.
All works OK, settings remain as dialed in. I did not used "L" command previously - tried just now, it starts XXHE play. Pls (re)check BAT
& Shortcut pointers.

Brgds,
George
102  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: XXHE 1.186a on Win7 - what went wrong? on: February 23, 2014, 02:56:27 pm
Everything works fine here.

BTW: I've used Alain's script for creating RAMdrives, except last line - starting XXHE. I prefer shortcut instead...

Yes Peter, all looks good again: FLAC conversion works w/ HT turned 'ON', on CPU with 8 cores / 16 threads. With RAM drive(s) as well.

... (I can not test it <- a lousy 12 cores only)...

104  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: XXHE 1.186a on Win7 - what went wrong? on: February 23, 2014, 10:55:43 am
Hey Anthony,

I was not actually counting the led's but rather watching (extremely fast) constructors building fantastic stairways over my screen. Sometimes with the red carpet  Wink

I found one screenshot with 17 led's but consider it normal as always had one led more than number of cores/threads, as if software is 'probing' for next thread.

And glad to learn that Peter found the culprit already.

It's about hard disks Peter Happy
Very recently one nice & quiet 2.5" HDD suddenly 'died' here.
Another one, abt 2.5 years old is heading same direction, with 1.5TB of music files unhappy
