Title: How to play an album without loding it in the playlist?
Post by: Decoherent on April 22, 2013, 12:32:28 pm
I like to play full albums, not single tracks. I know the full album will play if you load it in the playlist area, but then it will stick until you don't explicitly clean it up. Instead I like to move between albums and tracks inside of it. In other terms I would to play directly form the library area (on the left).
What happens now is that you load an album in the playlist and when you select another one the old album will play again as it is sticking in there.

Apologies if I missing any magic trick. Is there a complete User Guide somewhere?

Thanks..

Maybe a strange answer :

I play albums just as well, actually always one by one. And so I have the "inherent habit" to always start clicking the Clear button. That clears the Playlist Area.
Next I'll load my album of selection into the Playlist Area (could be by the means you do it) and press Play.

Of course my "Clear" button is that explicit activity you talk about, but I wonder what so to much wrong with it. It can hardly be that one click ... or is it ?

Or maybe I understand you wrongly ?
Regards,
Peter

It is minor I know but still annoying.
If you forget to clear before to select another album the old  one's first track will play first.
It is probably just me, but don't understand why I can't just play an album instead of what's in the PL.
The list area already shows the album with the track in it organised in the right way, so nothing would be easier than to select an album (or a track under it) and to click play.
I think at the end of the day I'm still attached to the old vinyl/cd way and would maybe happier with a simple interface.
BTW... I would like a lot an android application to control XX.

Cheers,

The answer to that is fairly simple : because all in XXHighEnd can play through the Playlist only. Can't be changed.

But now I think of it ... When I "blindly" press clear like I told, I actually always look at the little yellow light in the "Load" button. When that is lit, I press Clear. When Clear is lit, I don't need to do that (so both will never lit together).
Maybe that helps ? and otherwise I'm afraid it is too bad.
Or do you want me to make an additional setting which you can set to automatically clear the Playlist first at loading new albums (or tracks) ? To me it really seems that I better spend my time on SQ, or ?
This is just a question, but a serious one ...

Peter

The automatic cleanup would be working compromise. Probably it won't even take too much time out of SQ development if 32 years of dev help me ;-)

I am sorry, that "little yellow light" is red actually.
(how can I know ;))
