Title: My turn to show my mobo idea
Post by: PeterSt on September 29, 2010, 10:24:04 pm
Sorry to bother you with this, but I had one hour or so to select a mobo and processor, so I can collect it tomorrow;
If someone can tell me its awfully wrong, please speak up so I can get something else at the site.

Asus P7P55D-E EVO
Intel Core i7-870

The main reason for choosing that mobo is the 10x SATAII (also III) on there, and USB3.0. And sufficient variation on PCI(e) slots.
At the site I will try to get some water cooling stuff on it, get a box around it, and whatever is needed to let it run.
Oh boy.

Peter

Top notch,

This overclockers board will get over 4 Ghz.
This is a nice update and will give you more insight in the SFS setting and such.

Hope you'll be back on track soon,

G'luck

are all sata ports feeded by the intel southbridge?
beware of non-intel sata controllers, they are just a pain in the ass.

I'd go with discrete GPU and Sandy Bridge ready motherboard. There are few models available now that will support next Core CPUs from Intel.
