Title: Driver 1.04 feedback
Post by: michaeljeger on May 30, 2015, 07:44:09 pm
Hi

So far i am not really happy with driver 1.04.
HQ Player does not only work up to 192 kHz.
With 1.03 it worked up to 705 kHz.

Did you change anything Peter?

I know you officially do not support HQ Player but this way, the new driver is useless.

I was hoping to get better support of HQ Player.

Regards, Michael

Michael, please, look into your own workflow.

It is not even related to the driver !
(the driver is 100% the same)

Maybe you recall from before that you couldn't get things to work ?
Or that I thought I did while I did not ?
So better ask Miska to be more clear with his porgram and settings because it will be all about that.
Or just you, but this is tough to say when in the end it is "us" computer nerds making the things unclear to the users.

The only thing which could be lacking is the sampling rate selection itself from within HQPlayer because I don't think this can happen automatically (not in Windows). But this is a different subject. So to be on the safe side, set HQPlayer to 384 etc. dual wire (or it is 768 dual wire - I forgot) and also set the Phasure NOS1 Driver Control Panel to 384 (or 705.6 and 352.8 - you'll understand).

Now try again.
And let me know ...

Peter

Huh ?
Maybe try to be careful with what you think for facts because I don't recognize anything of it ?
:1eye:

Hi Peter

After rebooting a couple of times, HQ Player works as before.

However, the sampling rate switching is still a problem.

I believe this is a problem with HQ Player and I will send a note to Jussi.

I will report my findings once I know more.

Apologies for the fuss.

Best, Michael

Hi Michael,

All OK then. But Jussi (/Miska) already knows and it is not likely he is going to do something about this. Also, IMHO it is not really necessary because xxx DAC's won't change sampling rates automatically and which is a (MS) driver problem. So mind you, this is about the change from e.g. 88.2 to 176.4 (etc.) and not from 88.2 to 96 (also etc.).

So what is not possible here is nobody's fault but a general MS problem for the type of driver, but, since I can do myself what I want I could solve it in XXHighEnd.
But to name something : Foobar and all of the others will have the same "problem".
My advice : let is be.

Best regards and thanks,
Peter
