Stupid thought :

Have the old 2.07 running.
Paste the Upgrade patch over it.
Rightclick on Pause will show the path (and should show a space somehow).
... Then I will know the cause, hopefully.

After this you can paste back the 2.07 UpgradePatch (like in case 2.08 does not start at all for the same reason).

?

Hi Anthony,

Can you test the 2.08b below for me ?
(paste over your 2.08(a) install)
If it works you can keep on using it.

Peter

Hi Gerard,

Possibly you do not start XXHighEnd.exe from within that same C:\XXHE folder ?
So can you try to go to that folder with Explorer and try from there ?

Peter

OK Colin, great. Thank you for the feedback.

... and always found by you ...
Happy

I seriously wonder what I have done wrong this time because I don't recall I changed anything. BUT, in fact it was on my ToDo already (in vague fashion) because this time it (also) counts for the RAM-OS Disk (RAM) situation. So what I taught myself is explicitly saving in advance of the reboot.

Colin, does that work for your situation ? (see rightclick on Stop and the hopefully visible Save option)

Thanks,
Peter

OK, there is a new 2.08a up.
Everybody thanks for the patience.

Robert and David, thank you for your help.

Thank you David ! For the fast response too.

As far as the user control "let this app make changes to your computer" on the desktop- I don't mind accepting but because this message never appeared with 2.07, I am  hesitant.

You don't need to worry. But point could be : wouldn't it be necessary to always and ever respond to that message ?
Otherwise I am interested in the Registry Key(s) involved. If possible and not too much trouble you can please send this data to me by email (screenshot perhaps ?).

Thank you very much for your help.

Can you quickly try the version below ?
Just paste over your XX folder.

Edit : Removed the download after David tested it, to avoid confusion for others.

I just did a fresh install on my W10 audio PC and all just works ...
(just a data point)
1495  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 2.08 Error on: September 25, 2017, 05:11:36 pm
OK David, thank you.
But now I still don't know whether you receive the exact same messages when you reject the question of the popup. IOW, is that the cause ?

Possibly in a couple of hours I can try the 2.08 patch again and send you the log file.  Can this patch be applied while minimized or should it be in the regular OS?

Hi David - That would be super (since Robert is sleeping now). And yes, can be done in Minimized OS.

I just tried to play music from this PC and had a couple of "Registry Control Tool " windows pop up. I selected "no" to not allow and then received the same three errors mentioned above.

You mean with the 2.07 patch ??
Anyway, it would be true that XXHighEnd writes to the Registry here and there and everywhere, but would that be the cause you think ?
(and hard to imagine that Robert has the very same issue)
But maybe I'm confused now ?

Thanks a lot,
Peter

OK Kevin.
You can talk to someone anyway. See your email.

Robert, can it be that you took the log file on another moment than with that "Caller" message on the screen ?
I mean, the logging of such a happening exists, but it is not in the log file (the XX- one).
1499  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 2.08 Error on: September 25, 2017, 10:42:14 am
Robert, may I ask ... What is that first error message which appears in your situation ?

Wait ... Robert, you are trying MQA here ?

I don't think so, but possibly I see something strange there. So please confirm ...
