Title: SFS 0.12 versus 0.09
Post by: Scroobius on December 02, 2015, 05:17:39 pm

Just to say that in my system 0.09 is the preferred setting for SFS. It is just a bit clearer and better delineated. Other settings have been tried but 0.09 seems to about the best.

BUT that is running XX in RAM (IMDISK) running XX from disk with SFS settings that low and the sound gets harsh and unlistenable.

Paul, I switch some times between the two. Can be 0.15 as well.
For me it is crucial to watch the bass. So one would change for highs (I do) but next the bass may run unnatural; that could be worse than the improved highs.
All is very fragile/delicate to begin with.

After further listening particularly with dense classical music it was apparent that there was some hardness to the sound with 0.09 SFS but setting it too 0.12 that hardness disappears. Well done Peter right again!!
