For those of you, like myself, who will not be able to get your hands immediately on a Phasure NOS 1 you really ought to consider the Jkenny MK2 if you've been using either the Evo or the Hiface. I've had the Evo for about three weeks and have been very pleased with its sound, a real improvment over the stock hiface. The highs with the evo are crystal clear, without harshness. Today, though, the MK2 arrived and its really wonderful. Using a 15 db attenuator with a bnc/rca adapter, the sound is incredibly smooth which, to my uneducated ear, seems related to the mid range coming forward in a way that makes the sound more natural or organic.  In comparison, the Evo now has a more congested, "hifi" sound. Thankfully, I am still able to get a full refund on the EVO.

Though silly sounding, its always amazing how you don't hear stuff or know what you are missing, until you get to hear what you are missing!

So, we make no other changes and continue to save our nickels and dimes....... Wink

Thanks Brian,
I'm not sure what connectors the NOS1 DAC contains but the MK2 Hiface is NOT A DAC, it's a USB to SPDIF transport & if I'm not treading on Peter's toes here, it may well work wonderfully with the NOS1 DAC. In fact here is an I2S version which could be incorporated into the NOS 1

Neither will be the case John. And certainly no toes treaded.
The Phasure NOS1 DAC has its own interface not outbettered by any i2s connection, nor from the outside or the inside.

I will take the opportunity though to tell I was cheated by Marco. Italian mob, I'll call it.
He plainly stole some ideas of mine at organizing a normal business transaction related to exactly your suggestion. So, no way now !
I guess that's life.

Nevertheless I hope that anyone using a HiFace or similar product has much joy from it, as I dedicate that to you.
All the best,
Peter

Indeed it does suck. It's not nice to hear about so-called "sharp" business practises like these & certainly makes one more wary.
