It is clear now without pictures. But may you need them : At posting there's an Additional Options at the lower left corner. Click the + in front of it and a part with "Attach" appears. Click the "Browse" behind it, and from there you can select a before saved picture.

Ah Johan, thank you. But is it correct or not ? The output setting for me is always Luidsprekers(Prodigy HD2). Luidsprekers (QVE for Prodigy HD2 (WDM)) I can't judge ... Edit : Ah, it shows in the screen copy. So I guess it is not the same, right ?

Oh, I'm sorry. In the Settings Area there is a "Dac is" combobox. Normally this should be set to what your DAC can dig. At the bottom is the one but last option "DAC Test". Choose that. Now play a 16/44.1 file. After a small minute a report shows up. At the second line the Sound Device is listed. If that one is not the one you chose, it is wrong. Again, thanks. Peter

Can anyone with the problem, please, ASAP run a DAC Test (not the Shared Mode one) and look whether the report coming from it indeed shows the Sound Device chosen at the top ?
Remember, the DAC test should be fed with a (dummy) normal 16/44.1 WAV file (hence select that for playback in the Playlist).
Without this information I can't tell whether the wrong device gets selected, or whether just something else is wrong. Because of the "click" thing people mention, I guess the latter, but I must be sure.
Thanks ! Peter

Hi Dave,
Yeah, I could wait for that question to arise. I'll try to explain :
Those Q2/3/4/5 sliders act a kind of opposite to what I generally try to achieve : let nothing influence sound. This means : leaving them at 0 they does not influence sound (by those slider means). Now :
With the GUI interference out of the way (and this is really a huge interference), another sound interfering phenomenon gets out of the way. And thus, judging that with Q2/3/4/5 not at 0 would make no sense.
Of course by now all is contradictionary. However, it also depends on exactly what influences and how it does it (like Q1 is in a leage of its own). What it, honestly, comes down to, is that only those using Q2/3/4/5 at 0 can properly judge the difference with 0.9x-5. Once you are used to finding e.g. 30/30/0/0/ better, it's lost (for judging).
I too slided back to 30/30/0/0 after half an hour of first listening, but forced myself to get them back at 0/0/0/0 again, because theoretically it should be better. But I don't think it is ... I still have it at 0/0/0/0 today, and I probably will last for another day or two, but although I think I perceive more cleanyness right now (which is good by itself), I also think some livelyness has gone. The clarity from Russ is just another phenomenon of which I'm sure the 30/30 indeed brings that.

Ok, something is clearly wrong with the sound for some or many. Can someone with the problem please show all the sound (playback) devices he has (ad indicate which is the one you want for playback) ? In the mean time, setting the sound device wanted as the Primary (default), and next select "Primary (defualt) Sound Device" (similar) which would be the first one listed - it should work. But if again not, play say so ! Thanks ... and sorry ! Peter PS: Haha, all my taskbar icons disappear every time I press play or skip song in x-5 You mean the icons only, right ? but if the whole Taskbar, boleary is correct.

Hi Eric, It didn't take long for a question like this popped up. First of all, but this is not 100% waterproof, is that I detect whether the Services I shut down are running or not. If not, I don't restart them. So, you shouldn't be bothered by that. But as said, this is not waterproof, and this emerges at the moment you need the "Service" button to restore all, which indeed does "all" because *when* you need that button, XX lost track of things. I am not sure at this moment how to make it all fool proof and convenient at the same time. For example, the services you mention as an example, aren't running here either. But, they never do. So, I most certainly not want them to get active only because I need that Services button for other reasons (read : for other Services). What would be in my mind is a button per Service, as may be there a checkbox per Service to shut down. However, right now this is not needed. Why ? Right now the only Services I shut down are those from the graphical user interface (that would be Themes and UxSms). Thus, it is my guess that everybody wants them running, as soon as you are doing something with the screen. And this happens so at the moment. In a later version I will shut down everything which can be shut down, and then the above will apply. It will just be an entension of what is there now, and what is there now was just needed for the Running Time. But since the principle is in, the others are a piece of cake, at the moment I know which. I hope this is a satisfying answer ... Peter

About the Sytem Tray thing ... I will look into that. I thought it removed by bringing up the Taskbar, but apparently this happens in another stage. Thanks. Then that Startbutton. This is a most weird thing, of which I thought I has solved it. But apparently this is not the same for every PC. So, no, it is not intentional that it stays. Heck, although I had similar situations here, and knowing how much trouble it took to get it right, now I'm afraid I will never be able to solve it for an unknown situation. What are your both exact OS versions ? so I do not necessarily need Alt-X, Right ? Hahaha, no, not in this situation.

Ok Eric, great. It only didn't work because my instructions were wrong. Again, I am sorry, to everybody btw.
Eric, can you please move your other questions to their own new topic ? I will answer them there. Thanks. Peter

The first think I would say is that you didn't select the proper sound device (which now not only is possible but also necessary). But then I don't like the click you mentioned ...
But could it be the sound device ? (Settings Area).
