Title: Runs Nice Now Post by: Scroobius on July 10, 2010, 10:46:08 pm My laptop with Vista has struggled to run XX. It sounded good but xx was slow with glitches and some problems. Surfing while listening to music often would end in tears. So I cut down Vista shutting down all the services I could and stopping all those background processes not needed (disabling IE helped much). It was better but not as good as I wanted. So I made my laptop dual boot adding Windows 7 Ultimate in another partition (but with W7 seriously cut down to the absolute minimum - I mean seriously cut down). Now it runs as it should. XX loads and runs fast and without any problems. With xx running there's plenty of spare resource. And it sounds better too - at last XX is fast usable and reliable (but volume always has to be treated with respect). I can surf & listen to xx with no problems at all. So now I don't need a new computer. Yippee!!!!!!
