Title: Problem with the Gallary view in left pane
Post by: JohanZ on February 13, 2011, 04:12:06 pm
Hi Peter,

I have some trouble to get the right setting (view)to the gallary(C:\) in the left pane (see attachment). It always happens when i add new tracks to the Gallary. When i add new tracks i change the path (via library button) to the drive containing the last added rips (I:\). With the right button i add the tracks to the Gallary.
1 How to get the right path C:\Gallery in the left pane. I have set the Music route. Is there a simple way to correct this?
2 When i want to correct the wrong spelling of "Gallary" in the path name i used, can i simply correct this by changing the name and path name. Or do i need to change more?
3 Sometimes when i add new tracks in the library (Gallary) i saved them by accident in the original place where the tracks are! Stupid but it did happens more than once. Is it possible to send a warning message "Not a vallid Gallary" ? I have set a music root.

Regards Johan

This is on my list already. Most annoying that it isn't there (anymore actually). :)

You just can't do it I'm afraid. But :
On my list too is a sort of "change" function for when Driver Letters have been changed. That will allow for this just the same (when done).

I can imagine that this happens, yes. Such a check should be easy to add.

Thanks,
Peter

At this moment i have two harddisk completely full. So i am copying the content of both to one 2 TB harddisk. I realize now that every folder contains two reference.GLXX files. What to do, to switch to the 2TB harddisk within XX?

Found it! Change the path (see 1 in attachment) in mine case in C:\Galeries and close and restart XX then you get the right Gallery view in the left pane back (2).

Hi Johan,

Although your attachments didn't come through as intended, I know what you mean. Btw, *I* always do it by means of a Saved Gallery Result and get that back. So, make one of your c:\Galleries and get that back when needed. Is also infinitely faster if you have somewhat more albums. But still "handling" which wasn't there before ...

Doh ! I just wanted to make something for this, and now it appears to be in there already ! See below (this is after rightclick the empty area in the left pane).

When i add new tracks i change the path (via library button) to the drive containing the last added rips (F:\). With the right button i add the tracks to the Gallary.

Recently I had in version 09z-5 the message "XXHighend has stopped working" when I add a new cd to the gallerie. In version 09z-4-1 I had this error more frequently. I have made a screenshot of it (See attachment). You can see that the left pane has a path where the files came from (F:\). Can that be the cause...????? I have test it once but no error message.

PS I allway see the background colour of the first part of the cd's in the mid pane in the white colour, when i start XXHE. Can you fix this? Scrolling further and back then all is ok. (see attachment)

Johan

Thank you Johan.

As you may have read, the Gallery stuff is a bit of a mess right now (I'd say the newer the versions, the worse it got; not intended though).

About the white background ... yes, I know. It disturbs me too, but never found it important. I will try to look into that as well.
