Title: CUE FILES
Post by: pistollero on March 22, 2011, 02:19:09 pm
I Peter i bought the final version and iīm very satisfied with sound but i have one question...
how can i play from cue files?....i tried to search here in the forum but i didnīt found nothing....
in this case i have a flac and a cue file... how do i play the cue as i play from foobar or others?....

other thing i using engine 3 because my soundcard donīt do ks, and a feel the sound hyper detailed, i think i ear the highs more than mids ans lows...( i think i feel some lack of mids lows...)
do you feel the same in your setup??? how does it feel for for engine 4 in compare to 3????

tks :)

Hi !

About the latter : KS is completely different and ... made because of the complaints you have about Engine#3 (WASAPI). It should be "good", but it isn't. Nobody is using it anymore ! (well, that I know of).
You can take the emphasis of Engine#3 away a little by dialing Q1 higher. 14 is usually okay, and nothing much "special" in the mean time. A value of 4 seems to be the minimum for "rather normal", and going more down will make things more or less explicitly digital.
You can set Q2 and Q3 towards 30 (just keep them equal) to add some "warmth", but it is all putting the horse behind the wagon.

About Cue Files : All is made explicitly for that, and I can't guess what problems you ever can have with it. One thing :
Dragging a Cue File (maybe FLAC only) onto the Playlist Area does NOT work. But that is all I can think of;
If you have other problems with it, please give me an example, so we can work that out, okay ?

Thanks,
Peter

PS: What soundcard do you have ?
Also : it may be a good idea to put your data in your signature; this avoids questions like this, and furthermore tomorrow I won't know the answer anymore. :)

Yes, I think the only "councard" I have heard of, not being compatible with KS is the latest High Definition Audio stuff determined by MS. Isn't that smart ?

If you are using that onboard device at this moment, I'd buy a Juli@. 120-130 euro or so, including VAT.

Cue Files : there are several means. But for now, just use the Embedded Explorer. Click on the Library Button (that's at the top), click on the folders in the left pane, and you will see the albums showing up in the middle pane. Select one (or more) and click Load (the down arrowed button).

and i canīt get rid of the ticks and bleeps on engine 4
