Title: clock resolution question
Post by: Suteetat on April 21, 2011, 05:23:31 pm
Hmm... I have been playing with various clock resolution in the past from minimum to maximum with no problem before in the past. But today, when setting clock resolution to maximum or 15 ms, I kept getting message 'asked for 15ms but only 1ms returns or something like this so clock resolution is at 1ms.
The only difference in my system today is that I just installed extra RAM so now I have 24GB Ram (yes, I really want to get lots of SFS, with SC, I was stuck at 110 SFS with 12 GB in my system :( and now I am up to SFS and have not hit the limit yet! ).
I am not sure what is going on here but for now I rather like bigger clock resolution rather than smaller clock resolution but seems to be stuck at 1 ms :(

Hi Doc,

This is not new to me. Happen to me a number of time. With reboot, usually resolved.
I guess you bought a whole new set of RAM since your previous set was 6 x 2GB. Let's try your new half set of 3x 4 GB and see if you still have CR problem.
Good luck!

FWIW : If this is with Engine#4 I have never seen it ... But generally something else will have set the clock resolution and that has prevalence (when set lower than yours) until it has gone. The Latency Checker would be an example.
