Title: XXHighEnd 0.9z-6-1 Unattended Volume...
Post by: BertD on October 06, 2011, 09:10:26 am
...finally works for me!!

Thanks! Even in attended I can now normally change the volume using the slider (that did not work for me either during playback).

One question though, how can I adjust the volume using bigger steps than 1.5dB in unattended mode? I can't find it back on this forum if possible...

Since it takes a few seconds for each 1.5dB step it would take too long to adjust 6dB in total or even longer if a  higher step is desired.

Wow. If it works for you than now it must work for totally everyone ! haha

But I am not so sure myself about the Attended Volume ...
So, I didn't solve anything there because always when I sit down for *that* it works. When I need it (measurements) it never works ...

More than 1.5dB steps ? ah, try Alt-4 followed by Alt-d to go down 6dB in one step (ok, two of course).
Ah, you wanted Up ? hehe ...

Btw, I'm always careful with applying two commands in a row, although all is made for it (this is your RequestPending thing). So, more safe is to wait for when the first has been processed (you can see that with some experience). I'm not sure how to lay it out at this time, because a. for many it didn't work properly anyway (and for you not at all) and b. this now has changed. It is a quite complicated thing, but it should work, even at queueing up commands.

Btw, notice that you can now use the OSD Running Time quite safe again (the Bartime consumes the least), and that you can there see pending commands at the Audio Engine's side (Alt-4 etc. is not amongst that; Alt-d etc. is). You will see the colors change, and may notice different colors for different stages; one of them (IIRC that is white) may be pending more long, because a new track(part) is loaded. So, this has prevalence over changing the volume.

Alt-4 giving 6dB? That is then 4x 1.5dB? Where is the logic in that...  ;)

Alt-4+U works well though (holding the Alt key with hardly any pause between 4 and U) so for my system this works way better than expected. I now only have to wait for about 2-3 seconds and the volume has changed... :)

I have the monitor turned off during unattended so it will only be a black screen or showing XX otherwise.

But for other people it could be very helpfull.

Next thing to try will be the 16x upsampling but for that to work I'll need an upgrade first...

Did not, yet but I guess this will then be 9 times 1.5dB?

Which is....ehhh 13.5dB?  :scratching:
