I have just downloaded and installed the latest z7. Activation worked fine and everything else appears to work OK. But when I use the "Minimise" button to minimise the o/s XX goes through the reboot as I would expect but the o/s stays maximised.

I even tried restoring the o/s to an earlier (known to be OK) time but still minimise o/s does not work.

I am having an issue with someone where it can be proven that  Minimized works, but the Desktop services won't 'minimize'. So, what about looking at Wasapi and the loudspeaker icon ? Nothing really for you Paul. But if that shows a cross it works. But half or so. Can that be your case ?

No WASAPI is still working no cross on the speaker icon and microsoft sounds work.

I have been intending to do this for a while and might as well do it now. So will clean reinstall the OS create dual boot then install XX get it all working (hopefully) and then take an image of the os disc. I think it unlikely that the latest z7 has caused this as the beta z7's worked fine so likely problem elsewhere. Will let you know how it goes.

Remember, Minimized won't go in Demo mode. I only want to say, be sure you are Activated. Reinstall the OS ? that probably won't help a thing. It is far more likely that the problem is on my side …

Hi Paul,
how can you be sure that your activation has been completed correctly? Only the red artwork frame.

I thought mine was ok, but it wasn't, despite the message "done"!
After getting a new activation code through PayPal and activating again with this new code (in normal OS mode, not minimized), everything worked fine.
Just give it a try!

Eric - activation was OK red borders OK.

Peter - I have now reinstalled the o/s activated XX and everything is working correctly (minimise works fine activated is OK red borders etc). I had to go through the Paypal process to get a new activation key (probably my computer name was slightly different this time - named with caps instead lower case as before I think - so that would explain need for another key) I have now installed dual boot so that I can take an image of the main (XXHigh) partition.

Question for Peter - Since installing dual boot I have not tried minimise O/S (it worked fine before I installed the 2nd o/s) I assume it will work fine so long as I ensure that on reboot the PC boots to the XX partition?   Is there anything I need to be careful of with dual boot?

Also as I have already paid for z-7 I put refund in the title during the paypal process - hope that's OK

I have been meaning to go dual boot for some time so this has provided the impetus to do it. So when everything settled I will image the XX partition so that I do not have to rely on the Windows 7 Recovery feature which does not work reliably on my system even with lots of space for the o/s.
