Title: Skins - Post in here
Post by: Calibrator on August 16, 2012, 04:14:53 am
Thought I might start a thread for us to post our GUI presets for others to try.

When posting, can you include a screen shot of the control buttons section so we can see at a glance how your buttons and colour scheme work together. Also mention the Font used.

Presets are loaded via the Gradient Designer, and images from within the Skin Settings panel.

Here's my first basic foray into this:

Font = Times New Roman
Button Background Image = "glass buttons (grey).jpg"
Gradient Preset = "grey_02.XXGS" ( place in your "Data Folder" )

Right click on the attachments below and "save link as" to your PC.

I prefer solid dark schemes, so I have the vertical slider on the extreme left at its uppermost position.

When time permits I will explore the other skin image options, but for now, this is easy on the eyes and readable.

Post away !

Cheers,

Russ

Peter ... not sure where I should have posted this so move if necessary.

Great thread!  I haven't started skinning yet, but if I do I'll post em here.  Hope others, (that aren't artistically challenged like me) contribute some cool skins.

Russ, great stuff.

For others, be happy to add your creatures. In due time there will be a separate board for this. Or otherwise this topic is a keeper.

Also, don't hesitate to show the full result; once we see that we may be more tending to use it, or use it as a base for new things. Anyway that is how it is all intended !

Regards,
Peter

It would be more fulfilling if all buttons could be edited, skinning options are now too limited so it will then always looks unfinished to me...

Nag nag nag  :)

No, but seriously, changing the shape of the buttons (and more) actually is in there. But it isn't 100% finished and I had to stop somewhere for this release. So you can't access that.
Next time Bert …

Nag nag nag  :)

Yep, always wanting to see things improve until it is good enough...

After that the nagging in my head stops and so does expressing it to the outside world.

If nobody is complaining then why bother to change things eh?  ;)
