Way overpriced thing.
You can do that with any usb cable where u cut the 5v, for lets say 10€.
But I dont think the NOS1 usb input takes any power from the computer anyway and it is well isolated (right, Peter?).

5V is not needed indeed. Well isolated ? the 5V (when used at all) is. And that is not all which is theoretically possible.
I didn't look at the Empirical Audio thing, but for sure in there won't be done more than what's possible practically, the latter meaning that when applied, it would create huge amounts of jitter.
(only digital devices can isolate here)
