Title: Galleries in the same hdd as OS/XX but in other partition
Post by: juanpmar on September 21, 2012, 08:14:18 pm
Iīm not sure if this was already posted but just in case. Could be a good idea to put the Galleries in the same hdd where the OS/XX is but in other partition?. Now I have the OS and XXHighEnd in a Velociraptor, I made a 100Gb partition in this hdd that now is empty. This hdd is quite fast as is required for the Galleries, I tried it and I canīt tell differences in SQ than when I put the Galleries in an USB 3.0 stick. I donīt know however if there is any technical reason that could affect the SQ.
I imagine that the fewer devices connected to the mb the best for sound quality.

Juan,

As with many other things I can't imagine SQ to be influenced by this. Buy yout know ...

But I would never do that because this is the most prone to slow down things. Well, when you heavily use the Galleries, only then (mind you, which is also at starting an album, though for a short while); The OS needs things, and you need things all that time. And both for sure are on a very different position on the disk ...

Peter
