Title: Peter calling Scandinavia - Gabriel Iglesias
Post by: PeterSt on November 06, 2012, 10:47:02 am

Okay, something different for a change ...

Last night we have been to Gabriel Iglesias AKA Fluffy. You may know the (fluffy) guy but chances are not *that* large. You almost need younger kids to learn about his existance. However, when you tend to look at "stand up comedians" you should know him. Well, still maybe, because chances are fair it's not your style (but think that IIRC Eddie Murphy began his job like this).

Yea, I am talking to a somewhat older audience I guess, so that's why the introduction.

Gabriel Iglesias is special already, because his act is the most "family friendly". This is usually not the case with other stand up comedians.

People from Danmark, Sweden and Norway, get yourself a ticket NOW. Stop reading here, and get that ticket first while you still can.
Btw, one or two left for Belgium as well.

Hey, stop reading !
Do not sort out first who the guy is and whether you may like him or not. You will because I just tell you. Get those tickets.

What you will get -at least that is what we received last night- is one huge flow of laughing - 135 minutes in a row (and I deliberately don't tell all).

You can well say that this guy holds you a mirror of your own life and without anything made up, you will die of laughing. It is the perfect reflection of how we stand in life in today's modern times, him telling about it without a single lie or things made up. I could to it too - it's only that you won't be laughing.

I am especially telling you, because yesterday it became obvious to me that Fluffy is not known to those of an age with more expensive "stereo's". So, you and me. What we encountered yesterday was a hall full of (over 500 ?) people of the age 20-30. Not more. Okay, maybe one of 40. I am serious. I knew the guy, but we have that kid -YouTube oriented- where this sort of origins. Still it was really a big surprise to me that apparently we were the only with that kid. Hmm.

There is no, no way you are not going to like this. That's why I say : get those tickets unconditionally. You can even bring your kids, and or they are old enough for you not to be emberrased, or they won't understand but still will understand the other 99%. But under 11, maybe it becomes useless.
And it is English of course.

Be warned. Such a "stand up comedian" is nothing like what we might consider usual from comidians. There's most often this group of dancers, or nice songs in between and more what I call "stupid stuff" and for which I don't visit a comedian's show. Not so here; over two hours in one row. So, while you still can, do something about your physical condition; practice your jaw mussles.

I regard this the best show I ever witnessed in my (somewhat longer) life. Go there now you have the opportunity.

Peter

PS: Anyone from The Netherlands was there in Groningen yesterday ? Anyone going to Tilburg or Amsterdam the upcoming days ? (sold out)
Any US citizens ever saw him live ?
