I place my pictures here as it is the appropriate place.

Thanks Tore for the excellent idea.

As can be seen (more or less) I have two places from where I listen music, while I´m working in my computer I´m seated behind the sofa at the table and if I´m just listening I choose the sofa. From both places I´m in the middle of the speakers and the sound is a bit different but equally good.

Well, as we're sharing...

I've recently set up a small 'studio' in my basement for my vinyl digitization project and taken most of my equipment down there. This leaves my listening room nice and clean... for photo opportunities!

(Incidentally, the speakers are much bigger in reality than they look in the photo. The room itself is 4m wide.)

Mani.

What I love about all these photos is that I can prove to my wife that I'm not all that crazy after all and that she should be happy with my positively moderate approach to this hobby.

Thanks guys!

Mani.

Hi Arvind,
Cool! It's like a HiFi Showroom. And you have even a Gyrodec. I sold mine more than 20 years ago and you made me feel nostalgic.

Arvind, great system!. I see that you keep the EMM Labs player and also a Theta digital (not sure), I wonder if you are still using them once in a while.

Hi Maxi/Juan,

Once in a while I listen to vinyl so I have kept the Gyrodec. Haven't been able to get down to digitising the vinyl's as yet. Too cumbersome to use vinyl on a regular basis.

I actually wanted to sell the EMM gear but the price is so ridiculous that I thought might as well keep them. I play it for a short while every Sunday to keep them in running condition. The Theta Compli is only for DVD.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Best regards,

Arvind

Sergero, nice !

But funny; Looking at this I recall that in my previous house I wanted to change the positions of the furniture but whatever I wanted to change, it could only end up with the speakers positioned like yours. And although there was nothing wrong with the sound, my brain couldn't cope with such a position. Somehow, for me, speakers need to be in parallel to a wall.

Regards,
Peter

I understand. But disallow her that furniture and solve two problems at the same time. Maybe three !

No, but good eyes.  It's a nearly 30-year-old Linn knockoff, a Systemdek IIX.  Not bad in its own right at its reasonably low price for the time, but no Linn.

Sorry for the blurry shot, it was taken with my iPhone.

The digital-related part of the main system is as follows:

WD MyBook FW -> MacBook Pro w/SSD -> Mapleshade Clearlink USB -> Schiit Bifrost -> Spectral DMC-12 & DMA-150 -> Vandersteen 2Ce. Other cabling and power strip Omega Mikro/Mapleshade. Also MIT Z-Stabilizer.

As promised...  ;)

Total room dimensions are 8,1m x 4,1m x 2,9m (depth x width x height).

The part behind the speakers is used as entrance, storage, my office, the kitchen and my own toilet!  8)

I would like to put myself forward for the "minimalists" award. OK I suppose I could get rid of the Christmas tree but that would not help domestic harmony.

Christmas Cheers to all

Very nice Paul.

Wonder how you can conceal the speaker cables!

Merry Christmas to all too!

Yeah, right. It is quite easy to erase those tiny "Anticable" wires from the photo.

Peter, did you take this second photo from somewhere in this forum? Haven seen it before.

Cheers!

Praphan - No, it is the same photo, but I photoshopped it.

Ok ok ...
It was taken from the GainGlone Heaven topic.

Bert -

Please tell me the toilet is tucked away somewhere I cannot see (i.e., that you do not use as a toilet the part of the picture I *can* see). :o
