Title: 0.9z-8a: what, no PA+?
Post by: manisandher on December 26, 2012, 11:45:02 am
From the release notes, I understand that it's simply too complicated to get XTweaks working with PA+, but this poses a dilemma for me.

On both my main and office systems, the SQ is better with PA+. IMO, the SQ is worse with PA- than with no PA at all in both systems. So, do I go with 0.9z-8 with XTweaks and no PA, or revert back to 0.9z-7-5 with PA+? This is a rhetorical question of course and probably one that only I can answer through listening to both cases.

But one question for you Peter: is PA+ ever likely to work with XTweaks?

Another question for the rest of you: has no-one else been using PA+ as opposed to PA- (before 0.9z-8)? It would be weird if I were the only one who's been doing this... on two totally different systems too.

Mani.

Ahum.

PA+ was eliminated because it just doesn't work. I couldn't get it to work while the final version of PA (the 0.9z-7 version which didn't exhibit strangenesses for anyone anymore). Back at the time (I think) it was in the Release Notes already. So, now I just removed it as something in the last 5 minutes before the upload.
It has nothing to do with XTweaks and it can be put back in a whimp.

I have a sort of similar question : nobody ever reported something not working since that final PA version, but whether that is because nobody used it ? at least you are one - and without reporting anything wrong with it ...

Especially for Mani and for anyone who was using PA+.

Paste over your current XX folder (only 0.9z-8(a) !!).

Nothing else was changed.
